Best test result: #2 of 9 in 2024 Tire Rack UHP All Season Tyre Test (overall ranking)
“Yep the set on mine are approaching 5 yrs/50K miles since being put on and tread depth is averaging 4/32". Will be replacing them in the next few months and no doubt will go back with the same exact thing. Definitely the best performing/most even wearing tire I've had on any vehicle for decades regardless of brand.”

The community highly regards the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 PLUS as an exceptional ultra-high performance all-season tire, frequently praising its superior wet and light snow traction, comfortable ride, and low road noise. While commonly preferred over competitors like Michelin for its value and everyday compliance, some users note trade-offs such as slightly softer sidewalls, minor steering feel loss, initial tread squirm, and occasional balancing or treadwear concerns. Overall, owners enthusiastically recommend it for daily driving, spirited commuting, and versatile year-round capability across a wide range of vehicles.
“I replaced my Goodyear tires with the Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus about a month ago. I live in South Florida so I cannot say how they would handle snow, but they are great for dry and wet traction. Just did a 900 mile road trip and the new tires make my Honda Civic Touring feel like a different car. So much quieter and smoother than before. Tires handled hours of rain at highway speeds beautifully. At one point the highway was covered in so much water that an SUV next to us started hydroplaning and ended crashing into the dividing wall, but we were able to just slow down a little a continue driving. I think they are worth the money. Maybe wait for a good rebate deal from Continental . Good luck!”
“I went with Superspeed RF05RR 19x9.5 ET33 5x114.3 CB73.1. I liked the RF05RR better than the RF06RR many others have gotten. For tires I got 275/45ZR-19 CONTINENTAL EXTREMECONTACT DWS 06 PLUS XL. Yes tire selection is limited, but these had good ratings and I am happy. My reason for going to the 19s was increased sidewall. The ride is so much smoother than the OEM 21s. Much quieter than OEM as well. No plans on track days or anything like that, just daily driving, so grip was not a concern. Yes, the clearance is tight, but they fit. Balance weights have to go on the inside, but not an issue. Have not regretted going to 19s.”
“I just put them on my 17 Z06. $1190.00 for the set. Huge difference on cold days with regards to traction. I had these on my Chevy SS Sedan for years and loved them. Only complaint is that if the car sits for a couple of weeks you will notice a slight vibration due to low spot until they even out, at least that's what I encountered on the original DSW's. I also noticed since these are not run flats that the bumps are not as harsh, which hopefully will reduce potential rim cracks. That's the hope but with our MI roads it's a never ending battle! Good luck in your decision!”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
