Tire A

Michelin Agilis CrossClimate

Positive

Community sentiment toward the Michelin Agilis CrossClimate is largely positive, with owners of vans, RVs, and heavy-duty trucks praising its wet and snow traction, quiet ride, and capability under heavy loads. However, discussions frequently highlight trade-offs such as faster tread wear compared to the Defender series and concerns regarding an NHTSA recall on certain C-metric sizes for snow traction marking non-compliance. Prospective buyers also note confusion regarding the differing directional C-metric and non-directional LT-metric designs.

“I have the Cross Climates on my 3500 and although they have less than 10,000 miles on them they are great so far. One thing about Discount Tire, I love them for all my other cars but I'm a bit leery of taking a Sprinter to them. There are several cases of damage due to lifting Sprinters at the wrong points but perhaps the bigger issue is that they do not have (at least none of the stores in Tucson) the proper Mercedes centering tool that fits the Sprinter wheels and makes sure they are absolutely centered on the balancing machine. A local big truck and motorhome shop here has it and that's where I go for tire service on the Sprinter. See post #9 here:”

“I bought a set of Agilis for my 2017 F250 King Ranch two years ago. I live in Colorado and I was attracted to the idea that they could possibly be left on year round and not have to swap between summer and winter tires. I have swapped between summer and winter tires for the past 25 years here in Colorado and I have tried tires that were supposedly "ALL SEASON" but they were always a compromise, not great in the summer and as a highway tire and not great in the winter as a snow or ice tire. The Agilis has been the only tire that has great summer performance, quiet and nice handling and also it has been hard to believe, but they act pretty close to Blizzaks I've had in the past for winter driving. I have 25,000 miles on them and they are wearing very well, and have not become noisy. I'm surprised there are not more accolades on these tires. They came out on top vs several other all season tires.”

“We are the same as you - 98% paved road. I just put a set of Michelin Agilis CrossClimates on my '01 E250 (LT225). Perfect ride - stable and quiet. But I only have one trip on them. I did notice that even after only 4000 miles I can easily measure some tread wear. Maybe this is normal, but I'm not sure how long they will last. But so far the road performance is very good.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
