“Primacy 5 205/55 R16, harsh ride compared to continental premium contact 7. Continental absorbed bumps better, and it sounded better, it was a muffled sound in suspension, Michelin feels like matador I drove before. Also, I'm almost at 10k km done with these Michelin's and I'm already down to 5mm in front. Very disappointed, I got them instead of premium contact 7 ( that I absolutely loved ) because it should last more than continental, but they wear very fast and I got no grip at all.”

Tire A
Michelin Primacy 5
Positive
Community feedback on the Michelin Primacy 5 is predominantly positive, with many users praising its impressive improvements in road noise reduction, ride comfort, and overall refinement compared to stock tires and older models like the Primacy 4. While the vast majority experience a quieter and smoother ride, a small number of drivers report a harsher-than-expected ride or faster-than-anticipated wear depending on vehicle suspension and local road conditions. Comparisons with performance tires like the Pilot Sport 5 or Continental PremiumContact 7 frequently highlight the Primacy 5 as the superior choice for daily commuting, efficiency, and comfort over aggressive cornering.

Winner: Michelin Primacy 5 — better comfort, treadwear and wet. It leads or ties in every category we score.
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
