“I still use good old pilot power 2ct, cheap but enough grip for most riding. Big reason I do 't go for sm2's (for example), is I also go on trips with it and trough rain occasionally. They will wear to quickly.”

Michelin Pilot Power 2CT
Riders generally view the Michelin Pilot Power 2CT as a proven, sticky sport tire offering dependable cornering grip and solid wet-weather performance at an attractive price point. While praised for street confidence and light track use, many note that modern sport-touring tires offer better tread life for heavy commuting or straight-line highway riding.
“Pilot Power 2CT I've got my first track day of the season coming up and it's going to be the first time on track with my new to me RC51. It currently has a pair of Pilot Power 2CTs on it with a lot of life still left in them. What are realistic expectations for these tires on track? I've done 3 track days so far, 2 of which were on Roadsmart 3s (I took my daily) and in the later sessions I was finding the limit of the rear tire.”

I had a Sprint ST 955i. The best tires I used on it were Pilot Roads. Great performance and wear. The road 2s should be even better. You did well to get 5000 miles on the back tire of a litre bike. My last back tire on my K1200S was good for 3,800km (about 2,400 miles). I'm about 4,000 kilometers into a set of Pilot Power 2CTs and they still look good. I've also got a set of pilot road 2's that are ready to be put on. I think the mileage on the Sportec M3 rear was closer to 4,000 miles. Still pretty good mileage. I could get the fronts to last through 2 rears! I have some fast friends who love the Road 2. No problems with grip on the street. I'm looking forward to a whole season without a tire change!”
“Nathan is right. I run 32 in both when at the track. they hold well at novice and intermediate levels.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
