“Anyone run Nitto NT555 G2’s on their B9 or S5 in general? Hey fam. I’m on the market for new tires and I am trying to find alternatives to Michelin PS4’s and Continental DWS06+ which seem to be the two dominant choices. I have ran DWS on a car I used to own many years ago and my god did they last a lifetime and I never had issues with them at all, they’re excellent. I wouldn’t put PS4’s through their paces as I don’t track my car, and I do go on canyon cruises yes but not all that often. I am going to change from OEM 265/30/20 to 275/30/20 and I can only seem to land on Nitto as the third best alternative. I’m hoping someone, anyone in here has ran these at some point on their car and double hoping someone with a B9 platform has done it. I’d love to hear from you. I’m also kind of a sucker for tread pattern and I must say that the DWS isn’t my favorite and the Nitto looks so nice. But in the end the DWS outperforms Nitto in every category despite the fact that Nitto is an actual max performance summer tire and DWS is an all season. OR if you guys have another recommendation I’d love those too. Please share!”

Nitto NT555 G2
Community sentiment regarding the Nitto NT555 G2 is divided, with many owners appreciating its affordable price point, quiet street ride, good tread life, and availability in hard-to-find wide sizes. However, numerous drivers express frustration over poor straight-line traction on higher-horsepower vehicles, significant loss of grip in cold temperatures, and dangerous handling or hydroplaning in wet weather. Additionally, several users report persistent issues with flat-spotting when vehicles are parked for extended periods.
“I bought some because they are one of the few available in 315/35R17. At first I didn't like them, too easy to spin and the back end kicked to the left. Then I discovered they worked great at 38psi. I've never had problems with flat spots even after setting for several months. I would buy them again.”
“I can't compare Nitto to Conti directly. I replaced my OEM GY supercars with NT555 G2. Here's what I see: Above say 60 degrees, tires warm, Nittos lose probably 15-20% of the grip of the GYs. 40-60 degrees, tires warm, the Nittos start to equal out the GY's as you get closer to 40. Below 40 degrees, Nittos grip better, without question, mostly because it gets hard to get enough heat in the GYs unless you drive like an idiot. Below 30 degrees the GY's are hockey pucks, don't even try it. Just my unscientific observation. Your mileage may vary. I will say going from the runflat GYs to the Nittos was a great improvement in harshness of ride. I only have a few thousand miles on them so I can't speak to longevity, but anything has to be better than the GY's in that area. If someone can compare Contis to GYs, it should tell you the rest of the story.”
“Staggered tire recommendations? Title. I have 17x9 rims up front and 17x10.5 rims in the rear. Currently running 245/45R17 on the front and 275/40R17 in the rear. Ideally I’d like to keep these tire sizes. Tires all around are Nitto NT555 G2 tires, and I’m just not happy at all with the grip. They’re fine around corners, but if I even breathe on the throttle at all in 1st gear, I’m instantly spinning. It’s sketchy as fuck in the rain, too. I wanted Continental DWS06 tires, but they don’t make those in a 275/40R17 for my rear tires. I’d only be able to get the fronts. Thinking about Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 4s, but not sure. I want to be able to handle well enough around corners, handle Ohio weather no matter what it’s doing, and I wanna be able to floor it in 1st gear and get very little wheel spin. Obviously not trying to drive the car in snow, it’s still mostly gonna see nice weather and occasional rain, I usually like to store the car over the winter and drive something else. But still, Ohio is Ohio, and our weather can absolutely never make up its damn mind. So, I come asking for tire recommendations. Don’t really mind price all too much, but my car is completely stock engine wise minus the exhaust, so it’s not like I’m pushing crazy power. I “daily” this car whenever the weather is nice, so I just need a streetable all season tire that won’t lose grip instantly whenever I try having a little fun. Thanks!”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
