“What’s your opinion about eco tires like the continental eco contact 6, Michelin energy saver, etc. My car came with the continental eco contact 6 and i found them average on the dry. But, in the wet they felt bad, and in the rain especially around here in mountainous roads, they felt bad while turning and slowing down for a corner soon after i replaced them with the crossclimate 2 and still thinking about what I’m going to do with them if i put them on again on summer or sell them and keep the cross climate on. “Experience with stock Continental EcoContact 6 tyres & moving to All-Seasons? Hey everyone, We recently had a puncture after clipping a rock on the exit of a car park, which has led me down a bit of a rabbit hole researching replacement options. It seems like the stock Continental EcoContact 6s get quite a lot of mixed-to-negative feedback online, particularly when it comes to wet weather performance and durability. I was curious what everyone's real-world experience has been with them so far? Are they really as mediocre in the wet as the reviews suggest, or do they hold up fine under normal driving? We've only had our buzz a week, so out experience is limited and only driven in dry conditions. Additionally, has anyone made the switch to dedicated all-season tyres on their Buzz, such as the Continental AllSeasonContact 2 or the Michelin CrossClimate 2? I'd love to know how they affect range, cabin noise, and overall grip, especially coming from the factory eco-tyres. We live in SW England where we get a lot of rain and occasional snow in the winter. Cheers!”

“Used Continental EcoContact 6 I have recently bought a G31 from 2022 which came with winter tires. Therefor I have bought summer tires which are used and were advertised as 5,5mm profile depth on each tire. I have measured each tire and am wondering which tire should be installed on which side and if front or rear would be better. Unfortunately there is no mark to show on which position they were on the previous owners car. Starting from outside moving inside I have measured the following millimetres: Tire 1: 5.51, 5.69, 5.85, 5.36 Tire 2: 5.40, 5.58, 5.71, 5.33 Tire 3: 5.59, 5.69, 5.79, 5.39 Tire 4: 5.38, 5.55, 5.73, 5.34 Seeing the numbers I would go with tire 2 and 4 on one axis und 1 and 3 on the other. Would that be a good idea and where should each pair go, front or rear? Is this even important at this low difference? I am happy for any advise. Thanks. Read more”

“17" Goodyear efficient grip performance 2 small leak identified Hi, On my VW Touran 2019, 1.5 TSI, 17" alu oem wheels I have set Goodyear efficient grip performance 2 . There is a small leak lets say the pressure goes fro m 2.5psi to 2 psi in approx 7-10 days. The VW tpms warns me usually every 2-3 weeks. Im posting a new topic as I cant seem to upload pictures on the other one... Thanks to some help here I found the leak. See the pictures. I have no idea what is that roundish shape it seems smooth/rubbery and the hole clearly come from inside it. What now? Slime bottle? Glue? Or this thing that goes inside like a tire repair kit with the kind of rope thingy? Thanks!”

Those are summer tires, I just removed them for swapping with winter ones and I haven't cleaned them yet. They are quite dirty at the moment. The leaking one, pictured, was in the front this year, I switch them front/back every year. In my opinion it can do one last year (next summer) in the back. How would you fix the leak? I read those slime sprays damages the tire internally over time, but them its really approaching end of life fast in my opinion... I did visual inspection, I really dont see anything except maybe 1or two very tiny mark that could have been a nail puncture or something but its nothing sure... Maybe soap+ water? Thanks for hints. Ps: I have the tool somewhere for the indicator measurement, I cant find it right now.”

“Advice on new tyres So my car got stolen (RIP) and I bought a 16' MB c200d with rears 245/40r18 Its time to change them and I don't know what to do. A/S are not needed because snow is very rare in central Spain. Winter temperatures range between 0-10°C and summer range from 30 to 40. As I drive 25-30000 km per year I especially value wet performance and durability (Minimum 35-40000 km). The problem is, the tyres that would fit perfectlly to me are not available in this size (GY efficient grip performance 2 -best tyres i've ever had- and Michelin Primacy 5). What i've seen is Firestone (both roadhawk 2 and roadhawk sport), continental PC7, GY assy 6, Michelin PS5, bridgestone T6, Dunlop sport TG, kormoran/tigar/Taurus summer 2, nexen sport, hancook (Ventus evo 137 and Ventus prime 4) and kumho ps72. Even though It would be nice to save some money, i'm worried about losing rear grip when wet (its my first rwd) so its not important. What would you pick? Read more”
