“235s Factory Michelin Pilot Sport PS4s —> 245s Continental Extreme Contact DWS-06 Plus Just a quick first impression after changing from stock Summer tires 235/40/18 dimensions to 245/40/18 all season tires. I chose to take a chance and up the tire size/change the compound hoping to not sacrifice too much driving feel. As many are already aware, this 245 tire size is standard for the Morizo Edition*. Overall, I do not regret changing the tire size. Drive 9/10. Looks 10/10. A very small amount of steering feel was lost, but not enough to take away from the experience. If the car was a “track” setup I would stick with stickier performance tires or stock Michelins… but for a daily driver, the Continental Extreme Contact DWS-06 Plus tires in the 245/35/18 dimensions suits the GR Corolla MUCH better in my opinion. The drive is smoother just cruising (does not feel as bouncy over bumps) and tire noise is virtually non existent. The slightly larger sidewall also gives a little more peace of mind on crappy NY roads, pot holes etc. (I have had to plug the stock Michelins 4 times in the last 15 months). Will add more impressions later on if I can give more feedback. **Have not confirmed if speedo accuracy improved or got worse**”

“Low-Pitched Droning Noise from Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus at High Speeds - Normal? I’ve been running a 2022 Kia Stinger GT1 with a staggered setup and recently transitioned from a summer tire regime to incorporating all-weather tires at the rear. My setup includes tire size 285/30ZR20 99Y on the rear, where I’ve switched from Michelin Pilot Sport 4s (still on my front) to Continental ExtremeContact DWS06 Plus due to rapid wear issues with the former. Initially, everything seemed perfect with the Continentals, and now, after about 1.5 months and roughly 900 miles, I’ve started noticing a low-pitched droning or hum noise. This noise kicks in at around 90mph and becomes more pronounced as I hit 100mph. The rear tire pressure is typically at 35 psi, sometimes fluctuating up to 37/38 psi depending on speed and weather. I’ve never used all-weather tires before and am wondering if this noise is a common characteristic due to the harder compound or something else. Does anyone have experience with these tires at high speeds? Could the noise be an indication of a potential issue, or is it just a normal trait of all-weather tires? I value your insights and experiences, as I’m trying to figure out if this is something I need to get checked or just accept as part of the all-weather tire experience. Thanks for your help!”

“Continental Extreme Contact DWS 06 Plus on standard wheel Q4 Prestige Has anybody done something as dumb as I have here? Can you guys share which tires you guys have on your Q4’s? I’ve had the Bridestone Alenza EV tires since I got the car 10 months ago, and I hated the sidewall look, lackluster handling, and their terrible grip in the snow. So I decided to bite the bullet, and get the set of tires I’ve been dying to have on this car since day one. I gotta say, I got the ugliest wheels offered on the q4, but man do the extreme contacts make this car look just a bit more sporty, the tread is aggressive and I don’t hear any increase in tire noise in the cabin which is always fantastic. I drive this car pretty hard and the Bridestone Alenza’s couldn’t hold up to my driving habits. The only downside I’ve encountered was feeling a bit more resistance from the car while cruising since EV tires have low rolling resistance in mind, and I know I will get less range from the tires. But cmon it’s hard not to absolutely love these tires on such a boring looking mom car.”

“Apex VS-5RS 17x9 on Mk. 8.5 Just had my Apex 17” wheels shoed with Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus XL tires in 245/45/17 size. I’ve only driven it a few miles but the ride quality is definitely superior to the OEM wheel/tire combo on bad road surfaces. Wheel color is Anthracite. For anyone in the Westchester / Yonkers / Bronx area I highly recommend The Wheel Doctor for fitments.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
