Best test result: #6 of 50 in 2026 Summer Braking Super Tyre Test - How do 52 Tyres Perform in Wet and Dry Braking? (overall ranking)
“Why have my continental PC7’s worn down so quickly? I fitted these in January last year, after which I’ve done about 13.5k miles. 4 days a week I drive motorway, rest of the week locally. 320 miles a week are motorway, and about 20 are local, some weeks less but never more. They seem to be quite heavily worn already, the outside shoulder looks like it’s pretty much done, and the tread further in looks like it’s at about 2.5mm if the tread wear indicator is 1.6mm. I bought these as new takeoffs, and when they came I measured them they were at 5.9-6.2mm depending where you measured, so by that they’ve worn over 3mm in only 13k. I had primacy 4’s before, which did approximately 35k miles. Maybe I’m just an idiot or these wear fast, but my alignment should be fine, it doesn’t pull any which way and I don’t do burnouts or anything, it’s just a daily driven FWD diesel Toyota with not enough power to rinse tires. Normally I’m looking and giving advice to people about tires but this has stumped me Anyone got any insight?”

Criticisms and mixed reactions typically focus on higher road noise, slightly elevated rolling resistance, and varying reports regarding treadwear longevity under heavy or aggressive driving.
“Kad sam vozio w124, Continental Premium Contact 6 Sad dok vozim Passat B6, Continental Premium Contact 7 Jedina stvar na koju me nije žao da dam para su gume, i nekoliko puta su me spasile pri kočenju jer se lepe za asfalt. Tako da, uvek ću birati sigurnost pre nego uštedu.”
“Mazda 6 2.5 NA Tyre choice Continental PremiumContact 7 Well if anybody is looking for tyre upgrade and considering various options I am currently running my 6 on PremiumContact 7 225/45/R19 XL 96Y. The ride is phenomenal, it is a drastic upgrade from the Turanza 005. Turn in is faster and in curves i actually feel more where the front is turning - better feedback. I lost no comfort honestly. They are a bit pricy but if you need new tyres - the continentals are a great buy.”
“Had the same dilemma, went for PremiumContact 7 in the end for my Cupra ST300 4drive. Both have great traction when wet and dry, SC7 is more for an overall aggresive driving, while PC7 are bit more comfy, for a mix of sport and city daily cruising. Both are very quiet on the highway.”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
