Best test result: #1 of 10 in 2019 Auto Bild 4x4 All Season Tyre Test (wet braking)
“So I have my Bridgestone Weather Control A005’s on now. Although weather has not been too bad yet, a bit wet but nothing major but am happy how quiet they are. No real noticeable difference from the standard summer tyres for sound and breaking all seems great. Wait for snow (if it comes) to see how well they perform”

Weight the categories that matter to you
Wet grip starts at “Important”. Treadwear starts at “Neutral” here: road tests measured it for at most one of the two tires, so it rests on owner reviews. Move the sliders and the scores update instantly.
Only one of the two tires has a score here, so this weight changes nothing in the head-to-head.

Bridgestone Weather Control A005
Community discussions highlight the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 as a strong mild-weather and wet-condition all-season option, with users noting good braking and quiet operation comparable to summer tyres. However, drivers frequently report widespread availability and stock issues across multiple retailers, along with questions regarding fuel economy and snow performance.
“Why was the Bridgestone Weather Control A005 EVO the best mild weather all season? I didn't really understand why it was 1st for mild all season. In the South of Ireland, will soon need to change my front Tyres as they are about to go below 3mm. My tyre dealer are affiliated with Bridgestone and Michelin 205 / 55 R17 V XL I'm between the above Bridgestone and Michelin Cross Climate 2 I've had Cross climate plus before on a different car and I thought they were great but expensive so I'm wondering why the Bridgestone might be better for mild weather. Also wondering am I losing much on fuel economy by going all season when my main concern is getting up icy steep hills. Spirited driving is not something I care about. Icy grip, breaking and fuel economy are my main priorities. Read more”
“Ordered Bridgestone Weather Control A005’s and paid for at Tyreleader (they state they only list what they ha e in stock) to then get reply stating out of stock but will take 3-5 working days to pay me back grrr so then ordered from openeo (was out of stock the day before) to then be told they are out of stock but can get some someone else for £6 per tyre more so agree and pay difference to then be told they can’t get from other supplier. Agreed to wait until Monday to see if stock comes in of will then cancel order grrr”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
