“Rapid wear on Michelin Primacy 4, 2017 Forester 2017 Forester in Mexico City, where there are lots of potholes and speed bumps and a LOT of rain. I got a set of Michelin Primacy 4+ tires at Costco three years ago and they've got about 30,000 kms -- 16,000 miles on them. Tread is down to about 3.5/32nds (in the middle, slightly less at the sides). The original Geolandars lasted very far beyond that in the same conditions. I'm getting a bit antsy at the tread depth. Wonder if anybody else has seen such rapid wear.”

The Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S is widely praised by the community for its quiet and comfortable highway ride, excellent wet and snow traction, and solid fuel efficiency. Drivers appreciate its balance of rugged aesthetics and daily drivability, though recent discussions highlight growing concerns over reported product discontinuations and sizing shortages.
“02 SR5 - New Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S P235/75R15 - beautiful tire - excellent handling/feel”
“Tire Question: Michelin Defenders or Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S I have a TRD ORP and want to replace the crappy stock Dunlops. Almost all my driving is on road so looking at the Michelin Defenders or the Cooper AT3 4S in the stock size. I prefer the looks of the coopers but am I going to notice any decrease in wet performance, road noise or mpg compared to the Michelins?”
“Tire Recs for F150 - mostly highway and some muddy field edges - Cooper or Falken? I mostly put highway miles on my 2011 F150 but Im a bow hunter so October and November I spend a decent amount of time driving on field edges to get to hinting spots. When its wet, these field edges get pretty sloppy. I have Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S currently. While Ive never gotten stuck, there's been a few sweaty moments where it felt close. These have been great on road tires with low road noise, great fuel efficiency, and impressive handling in wet, dry, and snow. I want to maintain on road performance as thats 90% of my use, but curious if there are any thoughts on the new Cooper Discoverer Road + Trail AT, vs Falken Rubitrek, or Falken Wildpeak AT3 or AT4. Im leaning going Coopers again and hoping for the best on those occasional muddy mornings. Let me know thoughts and experiences. Read more”

Community feedback for the Michelin Primacy 4 is largely positive, highlighting its excellent balance of low road noise, high comfort, dependable wet and dry grip, and strong longevity for daily driving. While some users note concerns over rapid wear on specific heavy or EV applications, and poor snow performance due to its summer tire nature, most drivers find it a superior touring tire compared to factory options.
“6 year old MICHELIN PRIMACY 4(free) vs new Hankook Ventus prime 4 (290 eur) I currently have a set of Primacy 4 that still have thread and haven't given me any issues. (Dry or wet) . Do you guys think i should change them or will they be good for another year or so? I think they are ok but I've had someone say they're a bit old. Thanks”
“Both our Polestar2 (new) and 2016 Leaf (Jap import) arrived with Primacy 4s on them. The FWD Polestar needed fronts replaced at ~35k km and being 245/45 R19s Primacy were too pricey so went with Kumho Ecsta PS71 equivalents for a lot cheaper and negligible difference in performance. The rears on the Polestar are still going strong at 45k km and look like at least 60k km will be likely. We also fitted Kumhos on our previous Leaf and were very satisfied with performance and life.”
Recomandarea mea e sa alegi primacy 5 fara ezitare.”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
