“I ran a set of 295/70r18 Discoverer AT3 LT’s for about 25k miles. I had seen lots of negative reviews but figured that I would be OK with them for my needs ( I drive in snow 4 - 5 times per year). Initially I was happy with the tires as they performed well in the snow and the rain but after 10k miles they developed a balance issue and started to wear irregularly. I had never experienced anything like it before. I actually purchased new shocks but never installed them. As I drive a lot of miles I just never had any time to deal with chasing the vibration / balance issue and just replaced the tires with Bridgestone Dueler AT Ascent. I now have about 20k miles on the Bridgestone’s and they are still ride very smooth and are wearing great.”

Community sentiment for the Cooper Discoverer SRX is overwhelmingly positive, with drivers consistently highlighting its quiet ride, comfortable handling, and dependable all-season traction. Many users report unexpectedly competent performance in light snow and winter conditions, along with favorable pricing compared to competitors like Michelin. Tread life feedback is generally solid, though at least one owner noted shorter longevity than expected.
“Cooper tires similarities Is the discoverer crossrange the new discoverer srx? I’ve had probably 4-5 sets of srx between current and previous cars and they all look exactly like this. Google says they are completely different tires but in terms of looks they are absolutely identical. 🤔”
“My wife is using the SRX in her 13' Explorer and so far I love them. Great stability, quiet, no hydro planing. Will update once get some snow in them. Sent from my iPhone using JeepGarage”
“Tire recommendations that are lighter than Wildpeaks BLUF: Looking for an off-road capable tire (225/65R17) that doesn't weigh as much as a Falken Wildpeak. I'm aware off-road tires weigh more by design -- beefy treads, blocks, and sidewalls come at a cost weight-wise. That much I understand. That said, Falken Wildpeaks (30 lbs), Geolandar A/T G015s (30.3 lbs), Toyo Open Country A/T III (32 lbs) and even something more mild like a Cooper Discoverer SRX (31 lbs) represent a nearly 25% increase in rotational mass (I think that is the correct term) over the stock Dueler H/P Sport AS tires, and therefore will drag down MPGs and wear on the drivetrain a bit more over time. Is anyone aware of AT or AT-style tires that are fairly close to the OEM tire weight? Did anyone else shopping for tires take weight into account? I'm not in need of something super aggressive, but I do like to take on mild to moderate trails at the local OHV park, as well as the occasional dirt road overloading trip. The Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus is at least under 30 at 29 lbs, as is the 28 lbs Cooper Discoverer EnduraMax which integrates "all-terrain tire technology" according to the TireRack page. And the Firestone Destination LE 2 only weighs 24 lbs, and the LE 3 is 23 lbs. but I'm not sure how off-road capable those tires are. Thank you, this has been my Ted Talk. Read more”

Community sentiment regarding the Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT is mixed with a positive lean. Drivers appreciate its wet and snow traction, low noise, and strong tread life under heavy loads, though some report irregular wear and persistent balancing or vibration issues after accumulating mileage.
“I have the Cooper Discoverer AT3 LT tires on my 2010 Tundra with Hawk. They are E series tires. Found this link that discusses the differences between the LT and XLT. Really like my LT's. The increased tire mileage would probably be a good thing of the price difference isn't too great. Paul”
“I got 80k (rotating every 10k) out of Coopers on my 2010 and have 40k on current 2019 SL ... Discoverer AT3 LT ... they are designed for heavier trucks... excellent noise, excellent in water. I got stuck in a grass field in the factory HT hancocks... same field few years later with coopers.. no issues.. never tried in snow but imagine they would do well...”
“From the Cooper site: Discoverer A/T3 55,000 Mile Treadwear Protection - Light Truck sizes 60,000 Mile Treadwear Protection - SUV sizes The Discoverer A/T3™ is an all-season, all-terrain tire designed to perform well on the highway and off for drivers of SUVs and light duty trucks. Excellent highway performance Excellent wet traction Improved treadwear and traction in rocky and gravel terrain M+S Rated Discoverer AT3 LT 60,000 Mile Treadwear Protection - LT-metric sizes The Discoverer AT3 LT™ with Durable Tread Technology™ hauls heavy loads with less wear and are built to withstand ongoing assault from dirt and gravel. Designed to prevent shredding on rocky and gravel terrain Extreme durability for hauling Superior control and braking in wet weather Cutting through the marketing-speak, it sounds like the A/T3 is more road biased and the AT3 LT is perhaps heavier duty and more offroad biased. And the AT3 LT is not rated for winter conditions. I've had Discount Tire try to feed me a load of BS on more than one occasion. It sounds like that's what they were doing to you. The A/T3 is definitely still available.”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
