“I had a set on an F250 2wd I bought. They had half of the tread left. I personally didn't care for them at half of the tread remaining. Might have been different if I bought them new and got better acclimated to them. They liked to hydroplane in rain, and I decided to replace them with Kuhmo Road Ventures, becaure TR had them on sale for $115 each at the time. I didn't want to go into winter with the Generals. I love the Kuhmos and they've been good tires but a completely different tire. Let us know how you make out if you purchase them. I may need to buy a set of tires for another F250 that's used as a business truck and wouldn't mind a less expensive option.”

General Grabber HTS60
Community opinion of the General Grabber HTS 60 is largely positive, with owners highlighting its low price, quiet road manners, and strong fuel and electric efficiency compared to all-terrain alternatives. While widely praised as an affordable highway tire capable of light towing, some users note concerns regarding winter grip, wet hydroplaning at half tread, and isolated balance or sidewall defect issues.
“Our '24 Expedition came with General Grabber HTS60's. Terrible tire! Right from the start they were out of balance, dealer was only able to rebalance 3 of them and determined that the right front was bad. They replaced them with Pirelli Scorpion AS plus 3's. I cannot believe how much better of a ride that these offered over the Generals. Ranked just behind the Michelins on Tire Rack. I know that are not available in your size, but just sharing my General Tire experience. My next choice in tire was to go with the Defenders.”
“We have 38k miles on our 24 cclb with those tires and about 1/3 of that towing our 5th wheel, the only time I have needed 4wd with the trailer attached was when I dropped the trailer's left side tires off the concrete pad into the sand on a campsite at the beach. Only other time I needed 4wd was when we got caught in a snowstorm when traveling empty. The tires have worn well and are reasonably quiet and ride decent. If you decide to swap them I would be willing to take them off your hands”
“If you're not going off-road, I'd suggest General Grabber HTS60. I just put 4 on my 2014 XLT SC 5.0 4x4 for $780 out the door from a local independent tire shop in Delaware. Those were on the truck when I got it, and this is the second set I've put on. Quiet, and good in wet and moderate snow. No issues with towing my boat, a 26 ft Leisurecat. Boat is about 6100 fully loaded.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
