Best test result: #3 of 9 in 2025 Tire Rack All Terrain Tyre Test (subj. dry handling)

“Not apples to apples but ... My 2017 Forester just completed a year on Open Country A/T III (P 215 /75 R15 15 X7.5, downsized 17's to 15's for looks and more sidewall) and they'ge been great in rain, snow, mud, etc. That year was probably 80% commuting in all kind of weather. Great stopping distance and reliable control in wet conditions. I found them to be a great upgrade form the Geolandars it came with in terms of ride comfort with no loss of MPG.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
