Best test result: #3 of 10 in 2017 All Season Tyre Test (dry handling)

“I run the Quatrac 5 on my wife's Civic and her Grandmothers Fit (The Pro doesn't go small enough). The Civic runs dedicated snows too but the Vredesteins better than other All-seasons we have tried in snow. They mostly see the late fall/Early Spring type snow then the snows are not on. She is also very happy with their rain performance. For us its less about the "go" and more about the "whoa" because there are some pretty steep roads with stop signs at the bottom around here. Her Grandmother lives in Maine and asked me to find her a good all season a few years ago because after a lifetime of swapping tires twice a year she was ready to not do that. Plus she doesn't drive in active storms anymore. I found the Vredestiens in my research then and now am a convert. Tire Rack made it easy to order the tires and have them shipped to a shop by her house for install, so that was nice.”

Tire B

Vredestein Quatrac 5

Positive

Community sentiment toward the Vredestein Quatrac 5 is largely positive, with owners highlighting strong value, quiet comfort, and capable year-round traction. While recognized as a solid 3PMSF-rated all-weather tire, several users note that it cannot match dedicated winter tires in heavy snow and that tread wear can be rapid due to soft rubber compounds.

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
