Cooper Discoverer SRX
Community sentiment for the Cooper Discoverer SRX is overwhelmingly positive, with drivers consistently highlighting its quiet ride, comfortable handling, and dependable all-season traction. Many users report unexpectedly competent performance in light snow and winter conditions, along with favorable pricing compared to competitors like Michelin. Tread life feedback is generally solid, though at least one owner noted shorter longevity than expected.
“I have used the Cooper Discoverer SRX, the Cooper AT3 4S and Michelin Defender LTX. The Defenders lasted until 75000 miles and of course towards the end they were getting noisy and losing grip like all tires. Its a stiff tire built for longevity but not ride comfort. The Cooper Discoverer SRX is a very comfortable tire, but I got like 40000 miles out of them. They didnt seem to last. I am now using Cooper AT3 4S and its a very comfortable tire. It is a quiet tire but only a slight tolerable hum on the highway most wont notice. I cant believe its an all terrain tire. Thus I found long lasting does not translate to ride comfort. When you have a truck you need to hit the bumps more gently. The Coopers are comfortable tires which will make you turn your truck into a car but they are not 75000 mile tires. The Michelin Defenders will leave no doubt you driving a truck. For comfort also look at Continental/General line...”
“We'd gotten Coopers on Wife's vehicle and were impressed, so I tried Discoverer SRX 245/65/R17 on our Honda Ridgeline truck and they were (and remain) a revelation at least in that they made a huge difference in quieting the road noise. This was 7 years ago and now 30,000+ miles later they still look as new with little noticeable tread wear. Dunno the HTP or ATP II versions but imo Coopers are/can be first-rate tires.”
“I just put the Cooper SRX on my 2013 Overland, nice and quiet so far. The snow has been easy too, I don't foresee having any problems with these tires, glad I got them.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
