“Installed the stt pro's on the 10 duramax , so far I really like the tires . Put them to the test backcountry camping (towing 5th wheel) & they were good in the mud & towing. They arent the quietest tires , but did quiet down after some miles. Comparable in noise to the trail grapplers or slightly louder, they weren't squirmy when new, unlike the trailer grapplers I had on my old dodge diesel for the 1st few hundred miles Sent from AutoGuide.com Free App”

Cooper Discoverer STT PRO
Community members widely praise the Cooper Discoverer STT PRO for its exceptional off-road traction, towing capability, and dependable handling in mud, rain, and snow. While users note it balances well and rides comfortably for a mud-terrain tire, the most common criticisms involve pavement road noise that increases with wear and concerns regarding tread life on heavy trucks.
“I have used Cooper Discoverer STT Pro's in mud, rain, snow, ice, sand, etc. They have performed just fine in each. They are a bit louder on the highway, but it's not that noticable. -jokester”
“I had a set in 295/70R18. The first 50% was good all around. However they got really noisy as they wore to the point you couldn't hold a conversation in the cab. At that point they had to go.”
“They (Cooper Discover SST Pro's) are louder than an all season for sure but not louder than my Buckshots that I ran years ago. A friend has them on his truck, '08 Ford F250 Super Duty diesel, his only complaint is how loud they were for him since the truck drives on pavement most times except on a construction site. I have driven this truck numerous times and the Cooper SST pro's have great traction both on and off road but seem, IMO, to wear quickly on pavement, for the reasons Jim Oaks mentioned, so He will not get them for his application again.... Wish they made them in my size though. So in short I agree with Jim that these are a good tire especially for its intended application.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
