Higher is better. The Relative Score follows your weights below; category scores do not change.
Wet grip starts at “Important”. Treadwear starts at “Neutral” here: road tests measured it for at most one of the two tires, so it rests on owner reviews. Move the sliders and the scores update instantly.
Only one of the two tires has a score here, so this weight changes nothing in the head-to-head.

Community sentiment regarding the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A is largely mixed, with drivers acknowledging solid dry grip, responsive handling, and decent wet traction when warm. However, many owners criticize the tire's harsh ride quality, high road noise, fast treadwear, high replacement cost, and complete lack of traction in cold or snowy conditions. Run-flat variants are particularly disliked for their stiff ride and difficulty of repair.
“It's been 4 years and 30,000km's and the PS4S tyres have worn up to the wear mark on the back tyres. Any recommendations for a replacement? It's summer all year here. We have hot summer and less hot summer. I went with the PS4S because I found the OEM RE050A's too stiff and the PS4S was definitely softer. I would consider going softer again if there was a good option. For PS4S again it will be 2 x $564 for 235/40R19 and 2 x $610 for 265/35R19 = $2348 AUD or, if I try the new PS5 it is 2 x $374 for 245/40R19 and 2 x 472 for 275/35R19 = $1692 AUD The PS5's are way cheaper and have a tread wear of 340 vs the 300. I have also heard good things about the Falken FK510”
“I've had these tires on my E60 for the last four years - in the summer. I left them on the first winter I had the car and (re-)learned quickly that these summer tires are simply not designed for temperatures below 40F. Even when trying to drive carefully, I once slid right off the road while going around a corner. There were no other cars around at the time and no harm was done, but it was the last reminder for me. I now use a dedicated set of winter tires/wheels, and only put the summer tires on between April and October.”
“tbear, only have my subjective experience to go by.. Had the RE050A as the OEM tires on by 2008. I could get them to slip and slid at autocross (not on purpose) even with an un-tuned automatic. Have switched to the Michelin Pilot Sport AS all seasons (they have changed the model designations since the last time I purchased but these are not the Pilot Super SPorts) and am finding the ride quieter and very very grippy. Seems like all seasons would be a good choice for the Atlanta area? rakessler”

Community opinions on the Bridgestone Turanza T005 are divided, with many drivers praising its wet-weather grip and highway usability. Conversely, numerous owners report significant concerns regarding loud road noise, rough ride comfort, rapid wear, and premature sidewall cracking or dry rot.
“Only issue is possible ride quality with higher pressure. Dealer and independents seem to universally recommend going higher on tire pressures to maximize tire life for even wear on BMWs. I have been lectured on it a couple times at a locally respected suspension/alignment specialist over the years.”
“I drove my friend’s Leon Cupra fitted with these Turanza T005 18” last summer to Croatia. Rountrip plus some local driving, all in all 2k km, the tyres were totally okay driving on highways and local roads. Not noisy. Good tyres for sure.”
“I have a ford Fiesta with the Turanza T005s. I bought them in October last year for around 80 a corner and will probably replace them with the same when needed. I drive motorways mostly and have used them in some terrible rain and they are fantastic in the wet. Obviously not winter tyres but till fantastic. They give me much more confidence to drive spritely which is great.”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
