Weight the categories that matter to you
Wet grip starts at “Important”. Treadwear starts at “Neutral” here: road tests measured it for at most one of the two tires, so it rests on owner reviews. Move the sliders and the scores update instantly.
Only one of the two tires has a score here, so this weight changes nothing in the head-to-head.

Toyo T1R
Community opinion leans positive toward the Toyo T1R, with users frequently praising its competitive price, good wet and dry street grip, and comfortable ride. However, drivers note softer sidewalls that can cause a floaty feel during aggressive cornering, as well as increased road noise once the tread wears down. Tread life expectations vary widely across platforms, ranging from aggressive track wear under 4,000 miles to daily street durability exceeding 20,000 miles.
“For extremely quiet tires, try Toyo Proxes T1r . Great looking, wet/dry, ultra-high performance street tires designed exclusively for high-end sport sedans and coupes with good grip and a low price (all 4 cost me less than $900.)”
“My Cooper rolls on 16" X-lites shod with Toyo T1R in 195/50R16 size. Put them on in April and have been very happy with their performance dry and wet. They are also available in stock 195/55R16 and the popular 205/50R16. I didn't want to go wider than 195 and wanted a little smaller O.D. than the stock runflat size. Also matched more closely to my winter 185/60R15 O.D., so the speedo error is at least consistent all year. Highly recommended. Did I mention they are very light? Or that I like them?”
“Funny you mention these I JUST picked up 275/295 for my car today. I've run them before and really liked them!!! They also have a good looking tread pattern.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
