“I bought a set of 20” M-wheels when I my X5 was at around 2k miles. I had fitted Pirelli scorpion zero runflats on it. At 65k miles, they had to be replaced due to compound cracking, thread was still at 5 to 6/32. I think they served me well.”

Pirelli Scorpion Zero
Community sentiment regarding the Pirelli Scorpion Zero is mixed, with strong praise for its quiet ride, smooth comfort, and reliable wet and dry traction, especially on newer AS Plus 3 models. However, numerous owners express severe frustration over fast treadwear, with many reporting tires wearing out or balding well under 30,000 miles, alongside complaints regarding unhonored treadwear warranties and issues with the internal PNCS noise-canceling foam.
“Replace Pirelli Scorpion Zero staggered with? My GLE350 AWD came with staggered Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires. They lasted 23k and I'm not a hard driver. I've heard the OEM version doesn't last long. Is that true? Also the tires are 275/45R21 and 315/40/R21. Can I replace them with non staggered? If so what size and which brands should I look at. I'm in the south so an all season tire would work. We rarely get snow and when we do I stay home lol. Looking for a comfortable drive with a tire that lasts longer than 23k. Thanks for you info!”
“At only 3100 miles, I got a drywall screw in the inner shoulder of the tire which of course can never be repaired. NTB ordered a new one for me for 313.99 and it was received in 4 days. When they unpacked the tire and saw the foam insulation inside, they told me these tires can never be plugged/repaired by them. You have to buy a new tire every time it gets punctured! I'm thinking because of the special order status of this tire size and that it can't repaired, it may be smart to purchase a spare and have on hand at home for emergencies!”
“Ion Evo SUV vs Scorpion Zero AS This has probably been debated before but I need some help. I have a '23 Pro S RWD and the rear right tire got some damage and can't be repaired. So I have to replace with new tires. Right now I am between the Hankoon Ion Evo SUV and the Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS, which is what I currently have. Which one should I go with? I like the Hankook but they're both really expensive (especially the Ion Evo). Also, the shop says I can also just replace the rear ones with the same because the front tires look like they still have at least another 20k miles on them. Read more”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
