“Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ Tires shot? Hello all. Question for you, I got these in June of 2021. (KIA Forte5 EX 215/45 R17) They have 28,500 miles on them, and are rated for 55k miles. I hit a nail and went to Discount Tire to get them plugged. They said the tires were shot (even though they have 4mm left on them) due to chunking. I bought them at the dealership I got my car at, and they also confirmed they were shot and needed replaced. However, the dealer only covered them with a 2 year warranty, so won't help to replace prorating them or anything. Both places said it looks like I either ride on gravel roads often or corner too hard. I live outside of Raleigh, no gravel roads... and I don't know that I've ever corned too hard, as I never hear them squeal nor would drive the fool with my daughter and/or wife in the car. Is it worth contacting Yokohama? Is something else wrong with my car? Am I doing something wrong? If I were to get new all season tires, what would you recommend? TIA for any info / advice.”

“18x8 +40 with 245/40/18 Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+ Parking lot pics shortly after install.😎 So far so good - will give more feedback and better pics after logging some miles on them! Went with the 18x8 +40 Liquid Metal Shadow rim with a 245/40/18 Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+. I had to find a daily all season combo... And was on short notice!😅 Last week, I had to ditch the stock configuration... I had a screw in my driver rear tire, a few days later an air bubble in my driver front, and then the car was still wonky after two new tires. Turns out a nasty pothole, unbeknownst to me, slightly bent the passenger front rim. Decided it was time to go with 18" rims and a more durable tire to survive the roads year round.🥴 Read more”

“If you want a very good (Michelin or better type), smooth, quite, great in rain, longer lasting tire and less expensive, get the P7 A/S Plus 3. If you want a tire that is more performance oriented that is the same plus, get the Yokohama Advan Sport A/S+. The Yok handles excellent and impressive and is going to last longer than all the other performance tires. The P Zero AS 3 just is a bit better than the former P Zeros which all wore out super fast. There is already comments from some that used it longer term that it in fact wore extremely fast still. It's labeled as a "Ultra High performance" tire.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
