Pirelli P Zero
Community opinions on the Pirelli P Zero lineup are heavily polarized depending on the specific sub-model and application (automotive vs. cycling). While performance summer variants and the newer AS Plus 3 or PZ5 tyres receive strong praise for dry grip, steering feel, and value compared to Michelin or Continental alternatives, older OEM specs and certain summer variants face heavy criticism for poor wet weather traction, fast wear rates, and difficult mounting.
“Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 tires - An average driver's review This is a quick review for the Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 . I've got a 2022 P2 with the 20" non performance wheels. Decided to replace my original stock Michelin all season tires with something different as I was looking for a bit of a more comfortable ride. These new Pirellis provide a notably softer ride. Almost feels like I'm driving on the 19" wheels. The tires seem as quiet if not slightly quieter than the stock tires. Only have driven 600 or so miles on them so not sure about the efficiency difference. As far as cornering goes, I haven't pushed them to share any real observations. I'm in the States and ordered them through tirerack. I noticed they had two versions of this tire. I purchased the slightly more expensive version (roughly $1400 for set of 4) as I think it was the latest version. This was in June of 2026. Highly recommend these tires if you've got 20" wheels and want something a bit more comfortable in the all season tire category.”
“Had 2 sets of Sottos over 6 winters, switched to X Ice last winter. X Ice traction is noticeably better in snow and on regular roads, and Pirellis don’t last unfortunately. I’ll stick to P zero for the summer option as a sexier tire, but they wear out so fast!”
“P Zero Winter Tire Hydroplaning I have these installed on my 8V RS3 stock wheels, 245/35 19’. In heavy rain, the car is so sketchy I literally had to turn around on my commute the other day and switch cars. Even small amounts of standing water make the car lose composure ever so slightly when traveling at 50+ in a straight line. Anyone experience the same? TireRqck has offered a refund, but I must replace with another Pirelli of any type.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
