Tire A

Hankook Dynapro AT2

Mixed

Community sentiment regarding the Hankook Dynapro AT2 line is divided, heavily dependent on whether users evaluate the OEM factory tire or the retail/Xtreme version. The standard OEM AT2 receives notable criticism for lacking true all-terrain capability, poor wet/winter grip, and premature wear, while highway comfort and quietness are praised. In contrast, the Dynapro AT2 Xtreme variant receives widespread praise for strong snow traction, improved wet performance, durability, and quiet road manners.

“I've loved mine on a 2024 Subaru Outback Wilderness. I came from Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S which I loved but that found one too many nails. No issues after 30,000 miles on the Hankooks. I had some Dynapro MT's back on a FJ Cruiser which I loved so that's why I decided to try them again. Just in case someone with an Outback or someone looking at these sizes, here's some data I had compiled. 235/65R17 Hankook Dynapro AT2 Extreme RF12 - Overall Diameter 29.1”, Section Width 9.6”, Tread Width 7.5” , Weight 32 lbs 245/65R17 Hankook Dynapro AT2 Extreme RF12 - Overall Diameter 29.6”, Section Width 10”, Tread Width 7.9” , Weight 35 lbs”

“Swapped out my tires 2026 ranger fx4 So last week I installed some Sailun Terramax RT tires that ride like absolute dog shit ! I learned my lesson. And will never order cheaper tires again , I decided to go with Hankook dynapro at2 extreme this time around and I love them , yes much less agressive but a better looking tire than the Goodyear territory at that came stock with the truck !”

“The factory Hankook AT2s have lasted between 24,000 to 36,000 miles on my current and previous trucks. I have always been happy with the AT2s but last time I went with the Hankook AT2 Xtreme and I am very happy with them. The tires weigh a little bit more than AT2 but no changes to MPG worth noting and ride is very similar. They are slightly louder but not a big deal in my opinion. The AT2 Xtreme seem like they will last much longer because the tread is not wearing as much as the AT2s did. I am getting ready to order a 2026 F150 Platinum and I already told the dealer GM, that they will be swapping out the factory tires with AT2 Xtremes and he had no problems with that... I wish I would have done that on previous F150s that I have ordered! I forgot to mention my worst experience with factory tires was an 2012 F150 BAP that had Pirelli scorpion tires and only lasted 18,000 miles. That was very disappointing!”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
