Wet grip starts at “Important”. Treadwear starts at “Neutral” here: road tests measured it for at most one of the two tires, so it rests on owner reviews. Move the sliders and the scores update instantly.

Community sentiment toward the Hankook Ventus S1 noble2 is largely positive, with owners highlighting its competitive price-to-performance value compared to premium alternatives like Michelin. Drivers frequently commend its quiet ride, wet grip, and respectable tread life, though some note reduced handling sharpness compared to dedicated summer tires and increased road noise after higher mileage.
“Not many years back, I would not have even given thought to a tire with 500 treadwear - no grip & hard as a rock. It doesn't seem to apply anymore. Modern compounds are such that a tire can be built to both grip And last. I doubt I will ever buy a tire under 300 treadwear again (used to look for 200). It will probably be fall before I purchase, but these S1 Noble 2's are on the short list.”

“Thank you gentlemen, happy to do so and glad you love your set. Update 4: 30K Miles Front Tread: 7/32nd's remaining Rear Tread: 3-4/32nd's remaining I am somewhat in disbelief at how slowly the fronts are wearing. This car sees frequent high speed travel and I don't exactly take it easy on the corners when it comes to windy, country roads. Regarding the rears, they are wearing maybe a little more than I expected/hoped for, but nothing shocking. Performance in the wet is still excellent. 30K Mile Verdict: The E46 loves these Hankooks. My goal is to run them down by winter (probably 15K miles in driving for me) before the snow tires go on. Beyond that, another set will likely continue as my "3 season" tire of choice.”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
