“After 27,000 miles the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 (255/60R17 106V) tires on my Envoy are pretty worn. They are pretty decent tires, but it seems longevity is not one of its strong points; even with regular rotations (and road force balancing if required) every 6,000 miles and maintaining the correct pressures. I was actually considering another set, but it seems COVID is an excuse for incompetence among other things these days and they are not available in this size. I was told in October that the shipment would arrive in January, but now I'm being told it will arrive in April. At this point, these tires are in dire need of replacement for safety reason and there is absolutely no way I can wait another three months. I've been looking at my options; namely Toyo Proxes T1 Sport , Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050+ and the Bridgestone Alenza 001 that I'm heavily leaning towards. Wondering if anyone on here has any experience with them.”

Michelin Latitude Sport 3

Mixed

Community opinion on the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 is mixed, with strong praise for dry traction, wet grip, and reduced road noise compared to OEM alternatives. However, users frequently criticize its relatively short tread life and limited cold-weather capability, with several noting crabbing or rough road droning. Many owners also debate replacing it with newer alternatives like the Pilot Sport 4 SUV.

“Are Michelin Latitude Sport 3 235/50R19 MO tires good on a GLB? I'm thinking of making the switch from Continental ProContact GX SSR 235/50ZR19 MOE tires that came on my 2022 GLB 35. The Continentals have somewhat sloppy handling, are too harsh over bumps and bounce too much for me over uneven pavement, particularly on the highway. Since the Michelins are summer tires and weigh about 2.5 pounds apiece less than the Continentals, I'm hoping the ride, responsiveness and handling will be better, plus I'm not concerned with Michelin's lower rated tread life. Going to 20" wheels aren't an option.”

“"Install four Michelin Latitude Sport 3 RFT replacing Bridgestone Alenza RFT at 36,300 miles." Calendar entry above. For us, it made all the difference in the world. Retired, so most of our travels are on I-77, I-26 and I-95. Couldn't hear each other talk with the Alenzas. Approaching 50,000 miles now and couldn't be happier. Made an incredible difference in ride comfort and noise. Not sure how many more miles are left on the tires , but they appear to be almost like new. My X3 M40i doesn't have a spare and I'm not comfortable going to a non- RFT since I'm 74 years old and haven't changed a tire in 30 years. Can't understand why Bridgestone continues to sell the Alenza tires or why BMW continues to put them on their performance cars.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
