Community sentiment regarding the Michelin Pilot Sport 3 (PS3) is mixed, with users commending its wet grip, aquaplaning resistance, and daily ride comfort. However, enthusiasts often note soft sidewalls and subdued sportiness compared to the PS2, with many recommending newer iterations like the PS4 and PS4S for sharper handling and reduced road noise.
“Michelin Pilot Sport (PS3)for the summer and Conti 's wintercontact TS850 for the winter for me and very content with this the last three years.”
“I think I might get the RE003 because PS3 is about RM40 more expensive per piece. After 2 sets, the PS3 seem a bit boring...”
“Wow Brian, that must be quite a while ago, because I went for a 3.8 in the GTA , had some issues with that so went back to a 3.2 and now have a GTV . Regarding the tyres, I'd be looking for the 185/70 equivalent to the kind of performance tyre I used to use on the GTA (PS3s). I probably don't want to go for one of the expensive "classic" tyres the historic racers use but I wondered if there is something out there in the modern tyre world that is a step up from the Rain Expert. Having said that, the Rain Experts seem to score quite well in grip (as you might expect) so may be quite a good everyday tyre for the car. I will be using the car mainly for long distance touring rather than a lot of track work.”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
