“Not that you asked, but I had the alenza 001 and replaced with continental dws tires because the 15k mile tread life on the alenza's against the cost of the tire was too crazy. Alenza's were quieter and a bit smoother. I do hear great things about the hanook's, wishing I had gotten those!”

Tire A

Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV

Positive

The Michelin Pilot Sport 4 SUV is widely regarded as a high-performance tire option for luxury and sport utility vehicles, often compared against alternatives like Pirelli Scorpions and Michelin's own Latitude series. Users appreciate its strong grip and dynamic capabilities, though questions regarding tread wear, run-flat options, and comparisons with all-season variants are common.

Tire B

Bridgestone Alenza 001

Mixed

Community opinion on the Bridgestone Alenza 001 is divided, with users praising their solid dry and wet handling, good tread longevity for some, and rim protection, while others criticize them for a buzzy, noisy ride over rough asphalt and poor performance in snow since they are summer/run-flat tires.

“Soon will have to replace tires on my NX350h Hi all, Soon I will have to replace the 2022 NX tires. The car came with "Bridgestone Alenza 001" so far so good, the ride quality has been nice, the noise is OK, and the rim protection (tire being wider than rim) worked well (narrow entrances with curbs in parkings in the city we live). We've made 75.000Km with the OEM tires and we will still make the summer with them before replacing them. In the area were we live is very rare to see snow. The car has no place for spare tire so runflats will have to be. I know runflats don't get "lots of love", but safety is a must and we will mount runflats again. The guy at the dealer offered us the GOODYEAR EFFICIENT GRIP 2 SUV. But as far as I've seen, those are not runflat. If we would like to improve, what would you recommend and why? Thanks!”

“Need All-Weather Tires for my BMW X3 Hello. I am looking to purchase all-weather tires for my 2022 BMW X3 XDrive30i. I live in an area that does not get a significant amount of snow throughout the year and can vary. Some seasons upwards of a couple feet to some seasons with a few inches. The tires the car came with are absolutely god awful in the snow, even a dusting. The car currently has Bridgestone Alenza 001 RFT tires on it, yes I know they are Summer tires. I've been doing a lot of research regarding tires and everybody seems to rave about the Michelin CC2. Unfortunately, my car has staggered wheels 245/45R20 & 275/40R20. They make the front tire size, but not the rear. It seems the closest thing they have is 275/45R20. Is it possible to use that size for the rear? I know it would mess up the Odometer and Speedometer. Is it easy to adjust the car's setting to update the tire size? In my tire size I think the "best" all-season/all-weather tire I've been able to find is the Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. It seems the Vredestein Hypertrac All Season may also be good? Has anyone else been in my situation? Any other X3 owners with staggered wheels recommend a good all-weather tire with strong winter performance? I've considered doing the Summer/Winter switch, but given how hit or miss our winters are it seems silly to go through all of that effort if I have to drive in the snow maybe 3 or 4 times per year. Thanks for the help! Read more”

“Opinions on Michelin primacy tour A/S or keeping Bridgestone Alenza 001 Its time for me to replace the tires on my iX and I'm unsure about if dropping to the touring tire would ruin the handling of the iX and drop the range. Currently on a set of Alenza 001 and I have liked their feel, handling and over all use. But for some extra tread life, would going to the primacy tours be worth it? Worried that the car would feel worse with a loss of grip and that the higher tread would reduce the range. Since I do several road trips a year which require 2-4 charging stops, I'd rather not add an extra one from a loss of 20-30 miles of total range because of tires. Anyone have experience with the Michelin primacy tour A/S? This is on a 2023 iX with the 21" wheels.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
