“My personal preference is to run matching tires, and I usually try to. If at all you may falter with the 2ct, as far as canyon carving and aggressive riding the power 3 is more suited if your getting down and dirty IMO. I know Bridgestones 21 and 23 are excellent tires for agressive riding, my friend has a 2011 zx10r with the bt21's on them and with my bt16's on my 600rr even I was trying to keep up with him (knee down 100+mph) through our canyons, he for one can say that they are spectacular tires, I can say the bt-16 has raised my confidence level as well as the power 3's, the 2ct's I can't account for, with bad experiences... . I will add the bt 16's seem to need to warm up more then the others before you can confidently reap the benefits. I can probably go on about tires but I will cut it short there...”

“I have Pilot Power 2CT. Honestly, wish I had gotten the Road 5’s (at the time). My tires are stickier than I personally need. Unless you’re going full lean angle on the street, I think they’re a bit aggressive IMO.”

“I'm on my third set of Pilot Powers on my FZ1. The first two sets were slightly rough on the sides as they wore down. This third set grips just as well in the twisties but is 'pilling' much more heavily, on the sides of the tires. Since my riding style has not changed, the side compound has to be softer for this to happen. The center of the tire is still wearing smooth. B)”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
