“I'm also shopping tires for my 2017 GTS w/ 20" wheels. TireRack lists a number of options and I'm divided between the Yokohama Geolandar X-CV and the Pirelli Scorpion Zero A/S Plus 3. Leaning toward the Yokohamas since I live in Michigan along the lakeshore but the Scorpion Zeros test really well in dry and wet. My dealer quoted both no problem and less than TireRack.”

Pirelli Scorpion Zero
Community opinion on the Pirelli Scorpion Zero tires is deeply divided, primarily centered around a stark contrast between strong initial performance and poor tread life. Many users praise the tire for providing a quiet ride, excellent traction, and good comfort, particularly variants like the AS Plus 3. However, a significant number of owners report premature and uneven tread wear, often failing well before their expected mileage warranties, alongside frustrations with warranty claims and customer support.
“Pirelli Scorpion Zero AS Plus 3 Avoid this tire and all Pirelli products. I bought this tire one year ago from Discount Tire and got 27,000 miles on them before they were almost bald. Here is the description of the warranty on the Discount Tire website: "These tires are backed by an impressive 50,000-mile treadwear mileage warranty." I came to replace them today and had the dealer look at them. I was told that Pirelli doesn't stand behind their "impressive" warranty and that I would get no credit for the wear I realized. I'll probably not buy another Pirelli tire.”
“Pirelli scorpion zeros wear life I was thinking these would last more than 35k miles. Seems they are wearing in the centers like it’s over inflated but they were set at 35 from dealer and have stayed there. Also after searching on here it’s a 2022 S AWD shouldn’t it have gotten the Michelins? Thinking about going with falken wildpeak at3w since I got 82k miles out of them on my 1/2 ton truck but really not needed for this one”
“Pirelli Scorpion MS vs. Zero I was the unfortunate recipient of a giant screw in my tire last week and had to be towed to a local Discount Tire for a replacement. After being very specific that I wanted the exact same tire that I had (Scorpion MS), they installed the Scorpion Zero on my front right wheel and I just realized it this morning. Is there any damage in keeping this tire if it’s the exact same size? Or should I push back and request they replace it with the tire I have on the three other wheels? Not to mention I’m a little irritated because I feel like it was a sneaky upsell to get me to buy a tire that is $150 more expensive. Thoughts? Read more”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
