“Tire recommendations Does anyone have any alt reco for a Gen 1 R1S 22inch tires? I’m nearly thru my second pair of SCORPION ZERO ALL SEASON in HL275/50R22 in 3 years. I know Rivian recommends them but beyond another reco I’m curious if performance has changed as well. Thanks!”

“I understand the Pirelli redesigned the Scorpion Zero all season tires for 2021. I understand that they are original equipment on the Range Rover Defender now too .. i am very pleased with the performance of these Tires in the snow and slick roads here in Michigan. Interested in what other ST owners are saying about the new redesigned Pirellis?”

“Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season NCS These are size 245/45 R21 104W XL. Look at the tread. Has anyone seen this happen before? I’ve put 40K miles on these tires and all 4 of them look like this. Never in my life have I owned tires that have worn down in this way. I only drive on the street to and from work. Would this be considered a defect? Tire people say this is caused by driving on dirt roads or gravel but I have never done that. (PS I bought the Range Rover brand new from the dealership) anyone recommend a tire that won’t do this?”

So for me vredestein makes the perfect tires Thanks, I feel the same way. I have a 911 track toy, also - so I appreciate some effective communication with the road. But the Q7 is a tank, so I'm also determined to have realistic expectations about handling. As much as I love the Q7, the handling with Pirelli Scorpion Zero All-Season tires - even in Dynamic mode - leaves a bit to be desired.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
