How scores work
Relative score
0–100. Blends road tests (60%) and owner reviews (40%) category by category, the same way on every TireWheelGuide page. With only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from it, so the score stays closer to average. It needs at least one road test or five owner reviews.
Road tests
0–100 per score, from published tests, newer tests counting more. Each result is compared with every other tire in the same test, so a win against a strong field counts for more. The average tested tire gets 70, the best 100; with only one or two tests a tire stays nearer 70. The discipline rows show % of the best tire in that test.
Owner reviews
0–100 from the owner reviews we found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates and scaled like the road tests: the average tested tire gets 70. With only a few reviews a tire stays near the average.

The Falken Azenis RT615K plus is widely praised by enthusiasts as an exceptional value-focused, 200-treadwear extreme performance tire ideal for budget-conscious track days, autocross, and spirited street driving. While it may lag slightly behind the absolute peak grip of top-tier rivals like the Bridgestone RE-71R or Falken's own RT660, users consistently highlight its predictable breakaway, impressive heat tolerance, and superior longevity. Overall, it strikes a rare balance of being aggressive enough for weekend track duty while remaining docile and dependable enough for driving to and from the event.

Pros

  • Exceptional value and cost-effectiveness compared to other 200TW track tires
  • Predictable, progressive limit and breakaway characteristics offering great driver feedback
  • Durable and long-lasting tread wear for an extreme performance tire, popular for endurance racing (e.g., Lemons, ChampCar)
  • Quick warm-up times and strong dry grip once up to operating temperature
  • Good road manners, stability, and surprisingly manageable noise levels for street use

Cons

  • Significantly reduced wet-weather traction and high hydroplaning risk, especially as tread wears down
  • Shorter lifespan and rapid wear when subjected to aggressive daily driving or heavy track abuse
  • Slower ultimate peak grip compared to top-tier, specialized autocross or time-trial compounds
  • Prone to getting slightly 'greasy' if overheated during prolonged or overly aggressive track sessions

Worth knowing

  • Lightweight rear-wheel-drive sports cars like the Mazda Miata, BMW E30, and Toyota MR2 benefit immensely from the tire's predictability, sharp turn-in, and excellent sizing availability in rare 14-inch and 15-inch diameters.
  • Endurance racing teams running lightweight hatchbacks and sedans (such as Civics, E36s, and various Lemons builds) heavily favor this tire for its cost-to-mileage ratio and consistent stint performance.
  • Heavier or high-horsepower vehicles experience accelerated tread wear and may overwhelm the tire's outer limits more quickly during aggressive cornering.

“Ran a 275/35R19 Azenis RT615K+ squared setup for autoX. Here's my review for those interested. Let me start by saying I got crushed. 6th out of 9 in XA with an A90 Supra. These tires do not have the same level of grip that the Tempesta P1, RE-71RS, A052s, etc. have, so do not buy these thinking you'll be competitive, because you probably won't be. Besides that, lets start with the good sides of this tire. -Very consistent. They do not lose grip even as they get hot, nor do they lack a ton of grip when they're cold. -Fantastic treadwear. These will definitely last you a couple seasons at the very least. They hold their grip well throughout the entirety of the tread range. -Responds well to inputs. While these don't have the pure grip of a super 200 tire, they respond well to inputs and are eager to change direction when you need to. Now lets get to the bad. -VERY unpredictable. If you start hearing even slight tire squealing, you are right on the limit of grip. These tires snap out from under you easily if you're not careful or don't know the characteristics of these tires. -Like I said before, these lack a lot of grip compared to the super 200s, but thats kinda something you should expect when buying these tires. Overall, I'd give the RT615K+ a solid 7/10. They're not very competitive but they're a lot of fun, they're a great tire to learn on, they offer good value in the longevity department, but they're unpredictable compared to some other tires.
