What owners say
No road-test results yet, so every score here comes from owner reviews found online.
How scores work
- Relative score
- 0–100. Blends road tests (60%) and owner reviews (40%) category by category, the same way on every TireWheelGuide page. With only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from it, so the score stays closer to average. It needs at least one road test or five owner reviews.
- Road tests
- 0–100 per score, from published tests, newer tests counting more. Each result is compared with every other tire in the same test, so a win against a strong field counts for more. The average tested tire gets 70, the best 100; with only one or two tests a tire stays nearer 70. The discipline rows show % of the best tire in that test.
- Owner reviews
- 0–100 from the owner reviews we found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates and scaled like the road tests: the average tested tire gets 70. With only a few reviews a tire stays near the average.
By owner reviews

Reviewers of the Michelin Energy XM2+ are consistently positive, praising its balanced dry and wet performance, quiet and comfortable ride, and confident handling. Ratings are tightly clustered between 77 and 91, and no review reports a significant flaw.
Pros
- Strong wet performance: reviewers cite very good wet grip, effective displacement of deep water and puddles at 60-70 km/h, and no aquaplaning.
- Good dry grip and braking, with high lateral grip that allows confident cornering at higher speeds.
- Quiet, comfortable ride, described as 'silent & comfort' in several reviews.
- Responsive, stable handling despite a soft construction, with one reviewer noting quick steering response and another noting improved handling.
- Durable hard compound: one owner reported tread in great condition after 17,000 km.
Cons
- A thinner sidewall ratio was described as slightly bumpy, though stability and handling remained very good.
- Wet grip was rated lower than dry grip in the one reviewer who scored each category (7/10 wet versus 8/10 dry).
- Complaints are scarce and minor. Only the sidewall bumpiness and the relatively lower wet score count as negatives.
Worth knowing
- Most reviews do not list a vehicle or tire size. The exceptions are a Mitsubishi Xpander owner, who moved from Toyo Proxes CR1 SUV tires and praised wet and dry performance and cornering confidence, and a Polo sedan owner, who moved from Goodyear DPV1 tires.
- The Polo owner found the XM2+ quieter and quicker to steer than the Goodyear DPV1, which had been noisy and slow to respond and prone to losing contact with the road over imperfections at high speed.
- The thinner-sidewall fitment was the only one reported as slightly bumpy, which suggests a ride-comfort trade-off with lower-profile sizes.
