“A lot of our cars come with that Bridgestone. Often need replacement at only 30k km. They are also very sensitive to alignment, even slight off and the tires will wear unevenly and get noisy. Still better than the Dunlops though.”

Bridgestone Alenza 001

Mixed

Community opinions on the Bridgestone Alenza 001 are split, largely depending on whether they are the run-flat variants. Many drivers praise their dry and wet handling, corner stability, and initial ride quality, while others criticize them for a harsh ride, noise, buzzy feedback on rough asphalt, and relatively fast treadwear. As original equipment (OE) tires on performance SUVs and crossovers, they are generally seen as capable in warm weather but poorly suited for cold temperatures, snow, or long-term tread life.

“have the alenza 001 on my cx5 for the past 3.5 years/40.000km,been rotating every 5k km and keeping the tire pressure correct, the wear is excellent, can go another 30k kms easy and israel has tough weather. perfect straight line and corner stability, wet and dry traction is top notch as well.been driving in hell hot and pouring rain weather.drive the car fast.had all sorts of brands and tires from all season to semi slicks, from primacy to r888 in my previous cars so i know a good tire when i have one only down side is its a harsh tire after 3years but its normal with bridgestone.i strongly recommend as a sporty luxury tire.”

“^^^^The Alenza 001 RFT is a summer tire not meant for snow or cold temps, and is a run-flat tire. As you surmised, it is a truck/SUV sport tire. If the sizing is correct, it should work out fine in your LC. However, as previously stated, RFTs are not as quiet as regular tires. The tire installer probably replaced them with RFTs because that's what you had mounted previously. If that's the case, you have experience with RFTs. Lexus used RFTs on the LC up until 2023 and switched to regular Hi-Po tires in 2024. Lou”

“Soon will have to replace tires on my NX350h Hi all, Soon I will have to replace the 2022 NX tires. The car came with "Bridgestone Alenza 001" so far so good, the ride quality has been nice, the noise is OK, and the rim protection (tire being wider than rim) worked well (narrow entrances with curbs in parkings in the city we live). We've made 75.000Km with the OEM tires and we will still make the summer with them before replacing them. In the area were we live is very rare to see snow. The car has no place for spare tire so runflats will have to be. I know runflats don't get "lots of love", but safety is a must and we will mount runflats again. The guy at the dealer offered us the GOODYEAR EFFICIENT GRIP 2 SUV. But as far as I've seen, those are not runflat. If we would like to improve, what would you recommend and why? Thanks!”

“Super happy w Hankook Ventus R-S4s. Follow-up question. I'm 10 track days into owning my first set of Hankook Ventus R-S4s. Thanks for the recommendation. I rotate them after every 2 days on my ND miata. I'm noticing the forewarned heat cycling now. TBH - I like them more now. Car moves around more and i have to modulate brakes myself. When they were new I couldn't get the abs engaged - there was just too much grip for the stock equipment. Anyway, my question is - my research says that with this Tire the grip can drop off quickly. Is that accurate? now that I'm getting into this gray area where they are definitely starting to heat cycle out am I going to leave an event Sunday with 80% new level grip and show up to my next track day two Weeks later at 30%? Edit. I’m working with some assumptions here that might not be valid. I’m assuming I’m getting heat cycling performance drop because I was warned I would heat cycle them out before I wore them down to chords. I am definitely experiencing a noticeable drop in mechanical grip during breaking. I am much more capable of getting into the ABS now than I was on the first days on these tires. My last track weekend was also on a set of pads that are near life end so I think that variable is accounted for. That same weekend was cooler than normal and I noticed the performance drop the entire day not, for example, on cold tires or late in a heavy session.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
