Community sentiment toward the Cooper Cobra Radial G/T is generally favorable, especially among vintage vehicle and classic truck owners seeking period-correct raised white lettering. Drivers praise the tire for reliable road traction, longevity, and affordability compared to competitors, though isolated reports note sidewall separation or blister concerns.
“i have 4 new ones sitting in my garage. back in all black. says cooper cobra radial G/T. and it has 2 cobra snakes on it”
“Here's where the tire started separating on the sidewall. Hard to tell, but it's about 1/8 inch deep.”
“I have Cooper Cobras on my '65 roadster and, at the time I bought mine, they could be ordered with or without the white lettering. I have the blackwalls with a raised outline of the "snake" figure which doesn't show up from a distance but looks "cool" up close and personal! I have put about 10,000 miles on them in the past 4 years and they still look great and perform fantastically on the road and at the strip! (only a couple of times at the strip, though!) The Coopers are/were used by the CA State Patrol for many years (and still may be...?) and I've had the BFGs separate at high speed on the deserts of CA, NV and AZ but never the Coopers (yet!)... ;) ) [Modified by vettewine, 1:04 PM 9/30/2003] [Modified by vettewine, 1:04 PM 9/30/2003]”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
