“Vredestein Quatrac Pro Tire Review Bought these tires for my Mazda 3 after one of my OEM Bridgestone EL440’s got pregnant(sidewall bulge), and I plugged a puncture in the other one. Decided to just replace the tires completely. So far I’m happy with them. Pros: Severe snow rating so they are legally snow tires in my state(for mountain passes and stuff), and I’m guessing the snow traction is way better. They are still all season tires though. Seems to be a softer ride overall even on the stock 18” side. XL sidewall strength, vs the stock tires being standard. Should help with those sidewall issues. They seem fairly quiet as far as noise. $150 rebate in addition to being fairly cheap Cons: These are definitely not for those people who want sporty handling, they don’t really feel like a sport tire, and are more of a touring road tire. I’ve heard the treadwear isn’t the best(makes sense with the snow rating)”

Vredestein Quatrac
Community members widely view the Vredestein Quatrac lineup as a high-value, comfortable, and quiet alternative to more expensive premium tires like the Michelin CrossClimate 2. Drivers frequently praise its smooth ride quality and dependable wet and light-to-moderate snow traction, though several note it does not match dedicated snow tires in severe winter conditions. Concerns occasionally arise regarding faster tread wear, shoulder chunking, and rolling resistance.
“Vredestein Quatrac Pro+ shoulders ‘chunking up’ already Earlier this year (around February) I got a brand new full set of Quatrac Pro+ tyres for my BMW 325i. Since then the car has done around 3,500 miles. I’ve just had all the wheels off whilst doing some work on the car and the front tyres are chunking up on both shoulders, the rears are fine. (Pictures of front right attached, but they both look like this). It’s a RWD car, the pressures are as per factory, the car isn’t driven hard at all, the tracking is fine, I’m in the UK (so no extreme temperatures). Surely this can’t be right? Read more”
“Vredestein quatrac pro+ I had a tire issue while I was on a trip about a month and a half ago. I was able to plug it, but once the cold weather started, so did the slow leak—and it only continued to get worse. I took it in for service and found out I needed a new tire. The great news was that the tire was still under warranty, so one tire was completely covered. I figured I’d probably have to replace at least two tires, but they had a promotion going on: buy 3 tires, get the 4th tire free. So, with the warranty covering one tire and the buy-3-get-1-free promotion covering another, I only had to pay for two of the four tires. Since I only have about 14,000 miles on the vehicle, I wasn’t necessarily planning on replacing all four this soon, but with the deal, I decided to just pull the trigger and replace all four. I didn’t have a ton of time to research the tires beforehand, but based on what little research I was able to do, these appear to be a better option than the OEM tires. Now we’ll see how they hold up in the snow. Living in the Northeast, that’s going to be the real test! ❄️ If anyone has experience please let me know. I did take this into my dealership.”
“You won't find a true performance type tyre at 185/70 as it's just not a profile which is normally associated with performance cars. But as has been said elsewhere it is still the best profile for a fast road set up on a 105. I'd also support vredestein too, I use quatracs which are hybrid tyre designed as a compromise between a snow and a winter, they work well all year round. Vred also do a more summer biased tyre now which wasn't available at 185/70 until fairly recently I expect they would be my choice now. Edit, just checked they are called spotrtrac5 Not sure about vred classics being used in classic rallying, most people I know use either snowtrac3 or quatracs tout of a vreds range, though the rules changed at the start of last year which allowed 65 profiles to be used which had opened up more choice.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
