Toyo Open Country A/T III

Positive

Community feedback for the Toyo Open Country A/T III is largely positive, with drivers frequently praising its traction in snow, rain, and off-road conditions, as well as its smooth ride comfort and solid tread life. “the c rated 35/11.5-17 are 3 ply side wall as well. My one beef with the ATIII is they are a little shorter than say a Toyo RT or MT in the same size.”

r/ToyotaTundra ·2026-09-23

“21 trd pro.... tires I need to pick out some new tires on the Tundra, I am leaning on trying toyo open country A/T III. I have historically used BFG KO2s on all my trucks and can't decide if I should stick with bfg and the new KO3 or try out the Toyos. I live in Montana plenty of winter, and I get out in woods as often as I can from what i put together both tires will handle what I throw at them just fine just curious what others have experienced with either tire.”

r/COsnow ·2026-10-06

“Would the tires I have on currently be good and safe for my CO trip? If not, What would be the best tires to replace mine with? I know this has been asked in some form or fashion on this sub several times but wanted to ask about my specific situation. I live in Louisiana. Planning to drive to CO for a ski trip. Staying in Dillon CO. Based on other posts I’m a bit confused on if my tires would be safe for this trip. I have toyo A30 open country M+S tires. They have sufficient depth (about 7/32 right now) but are nearing that point where I wouldn’t meet the required depth for the traction laws. My trip is first week of December. My Tacoma is 4wd. I understand I meet the traction laws and I would also have chains just in case but I want to be as safe as I can. I see some people say M+S meets the requirements but really don’t hold up well if conditions get bad. Obviously I would try to avoid driving in said conditions but just want to be as safe as I can. Would all weather tires like the Toyo Open Country A/T III with the 3MPSF rating be safe to drive during this time even if the conditions got bad? I understand dedicated snow tires would be the absolute best but I don’t have space to store an additional set of tires so I’m looking at the ones I mentioned as supposedly these can be used all year round and are considered safer for snowy conditions. Any help or guidance is appreciated. Thanks!”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
