“I have Kumho Crugen HP71 on my 2022 Peemium they are great and not super expensive. I got them during the Mazda buy 3 get 1 for $1 sale at my local dealership. My Toyos were toast at 36k miles. Been driving on them for 10k miles now. No complaints.”

Community sentiment toward the General Grabber A/TX is largely positive, with owners frequently praising its winter traction on snow and ice as well as its quiet highway ride. Buyers appreciate its availability in lighter standard load ratings and competitive pricing compared to rivals like the BFG KO2. Minor drawbacks cited include fuel economy loss with heavier LT versions and a tendency for the tread to pick up and fling gravel rocks.

Rob I like them a lot. I have about 12000 miles on them. They have a little noise, but not bad if that is a factor for you. I am running them at 38 psi and the ride is a little softer. If I had one complaint, I run a lot of gravel roads and rocks will stick in the tread. When I get up to highway speed the rocks come out and come out hard. I have factory rims so my tires don't stick out beyond the fenders except a tiny bit. I have a couple nice rock chips on the side of my truck from that.”
“Thanks Coldcase, you always come through. Im thinking of going for the General Grabber A/Tx, 1 vehicle from the link you posted is using them and even a bigger size at 285 without any issue, difference is they have the altitude package instead of Overland. Do you think ill be fine?”

Community sentiment for the Kumho Crugen HP71 (and its EV variant) is mixed, with owners praising its affordability, comfortable ride, and quiet performance on many vehicles. However, a significant number of drivers report disappointingly rapid tread wear—particularly on heavy electric vehicles—as well as occasional noise on coarse surfaces and internal acoustic foam detachment issues.
“Tesla model y tire HP71 crugen on tirerack is offering $80 rebate per tire.”
“That is a crazy good price - The TA91 is low $200s wholesale! (Tire shop pricing). And $279.30 retail. (Tire Rack) Grab them while you can. Sometimes Wal Mart beats any price I can get when they're blowing out a specific tire. FWIW we run the Kumho HP71 EV (OE tire) on our EV9 and it's a super quiet tire. I bought it again for the Spring now that the car is actually aligned and won't burn through them.”
“Kumho HP71 vs Continental DWS06 I was planning to get Continentals for $150 each, but then I found these Kumhos for $118 each. The Continentals have a treadwear of 560, whereas the Kumhos have a treadwear of 640. They both have A/A for traction/temp. Is it really worth the extra $128 for brand name if the cheaper ones will outlast them?”

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
