“From 3 model you mention, only Alenza is designed for heavy vehicle/SUV, so longevity is better than other 2 for your Envoy even though the traction may not be the best. If you can find Pilot Sport 4 SUV, then it may be the best to replace Latitude Sport 3. I like Latitude Sport 3, the best in wet weather and great in dry, but it is true it is only 25000 miles lifetime.”

Michelin Latitude Sport 3

Mixed

Community opinion on the Michelin Latitude Sport 3 is mixed, with strong praise for dry traction, wet grip, and reduced road noise compared to OEM alternatives. However, users frequently criticize its relatively short tread life and limited cold-weather capability, with several noting crabbing or rough road droning. Many owners also debate replacing it with newer alternatives like the Pilot Sport 4 SUV.

“Are Michelin Latitude Sport 3 235/50R19 MO tires good on a GLB? I'm thinking of making the switch from Continental ProContact GX SSR 235/50ZR19 MOE tires that came on my 2022 GLB 35. The Continentals have somewhat sloppy handling, are too harsh over bumps and bounce too much for me over uneven pavement, particularly on the highway. Since the Michelins are summer tires and weigh about 2.5 pounds apiece less than the Continentals, I'm hoping the ride, responsiveness and handling will be better, plus I'm not concerned with Michelin's lower rated tread life. Going to 20" wheels aren't an option.”

“Trying to decide which tire to change to. 255/45R20 Michelin Latitude Sport 3 was the OEM tire when I first bought the car new back in 2017. Lasted around 36k miles. Currently Using Bridgestone Alenza 001 and it's almost time for replacement. 43k miles on them. I'm deciding between Latitude Sport 3 101W AO and Pilot Sport 4s (105Y) XL. Price difference is about $50 dollars for the Pilot Sport 4s. Does anyone have experience with both these tires on the the Q5 2.0T FY model and how they perform? My driving style is not aggressive, but I do drive a bit fast.”

rennlist.com

“Not a fan of the LS3 on my Cayenne. They came on the car when I bought it but will replace with Pilot Sport 4 SUV later this year. There are some stretches of road where the surface conditions change and I get a terrible droning noise in the cabin with the LS3. However, in my Cayman with PS4S in the same areas you can barely tell the road surface changed. The wear on both sets is about the same. 2016 Cayenne S e-Hybrid with 21" Latitude Sport 3 (295/35) 2014 Cayman with 20" Pilot Sport 4S (235-265/35)”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
