Best test result: #1 of 5 in 2025 Car and Driver All Weather Tyre Test (snow braking)

“Major efficiency drop w new Bridgestone Weatherpeaks I recently replaced my worn out stock tires (the OEM low rolling resistant EV friendly ones) on my ‘22 Bolt EV 2LT with Bridgestone Weatherpeak 215/50R17’s mainly due to a sale at Costco Tires. I wanted the snowpeak rating as winter is upon us. However, my efficiency dropped dramatically since, going from an average of 4.5 miles per KWh (even in the dead of winter averaging 30 degrees F) to around 3.1 miles, often even lower when it gets really cold; was even low as 2.9 miles per KWh last week. Tire B

Bridgestone WeatherPeak

Mixed

Community opinion on the Bridgestone WeatherPeak is largely mixed, frequently compared directly against the Michelin CrossClimate 2. Drivers praise its excellent wet and snow traction, smooth and quiet ride quality, and competitive pricing, particularly at Costco. However, notable concerns exist regarding rapid tread wear, premature dry cracking or chunking, and a noticeable drop in fuel efficiency for some electric and hybrid vehicle owners.

“Bridgestone Weatherpeak worth more than Michelin Pilot sport all season? Finally it's that time - new tires :( I happen to live close enough to costco, so I'm leaning toward getting tires from them. I was looking at Bridgestone Weatherpeak, because i've been using Bridgestone tires for as long as I can remember, but I saw michelin pilot sport all season 4 for roughly $100 cheaper (for 4). I don't mind spending more if it's worth the extra cost. Just for some info. it's a 2019 impreza, and I live near Seattle. Not a lot of snow, but mostly rain. lots of rain. We have a separate car that we drive for more rugged weather and train.”

“Bridgestone Weatherpeaks on a stock 18' Outback. Love them already I'm writing this because I haven't seen a review of the tires on my car yet..and I figure why not. I'll update after I've driven in heavy snows..... I've driven about 200 miles on my new Weatherpeaks on my stock Subaru Outback. Unfortunately I missed a heavy snow event (tires took a long time to ship). But today was heavy rain all day and 40-50 F. I was shocked with how good the tires performed in the downpour. On very wet roads with massive puddles, the Weatherpeaks felt like my old tires did on completely dry roads. (With that said, my old tires didn't need to be replaced quite yet. They had some life left, but with winter coming up I felt it was a good time to get some new ones....) Grip was fantastic. No slipping at all. Even when I hit really large puddles at speed I didn't hydroplane.. definitely would have with the Duelers. .. The tires do feel slightly "softer" in the turns when its dry than the stock tires (Dueler HP's) but they still feel great...and are a much smoother and quieter ride overall. Even on dry roads I feel like the car has better control. I haven't really been keeping track of MPG yet, but nothing that has caught my attention yet.”

“Bridgestone WeatherPeak I bought the BridgeStone WeatherPeak in November. 3 days ago, my tire had 2 cuts like this. When I took it to the dealership they said it was due to some road hazard. Something on the road had cut the tires. They replaced it, and 2 days later another tire ripped, this time it was 1 cut instead of 2 like this. I went back to the dealership and they said the same thing again that, it was due to something on the road or someone slashed it. What is the real issue? I don't know enough about tires to answer this. Read more”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
