“I ran the Continental DWS (Dry Wet Snow) all year round on the 221 S-65. They were very quiet on nice roads... Lots of grip when being a savage on dry, wet, even in the snow. Only time I got stuck in snow was by high centering the car on the snow drift that formed across the driveway every time we had a Nor-Easter. They would make it to 20,000 miles generally. I have given the 222 S65 Michelin Pilot Sport AS4. Less grip in dry hot conditions. They will live to just under 20,000. Zero opportunity to try them in snow (live in the desert now). They make more noise than Conti. Have not got much time with them in the rain. They will get replaced with a tire more fitting here in the desert. Run flat tires will thud over every bump. Best way to avoid wheel damage is keeping 45lbs of air in the tires and avoid roads with pot holes.”

“I just replaced my Michelin Pilot Sport AS4 that I had on my Impreza with the Michelin CC2s. I got 30k out of the PSAS4 tires, and neither the tire shop nor Michelin would honor the 45k warranty, even with regular rotations and even wear. I was not impressed with them in the snow, and I've had about 30 winters of driving with different all seasons. The CC2, on the other hand, were incredible. Such a good tire in my first winter that I bought a set for my daughter's Forester. A little noisier than the PSAS4s, but I'll take superior handling on ice/snow over the quieter tire.”

“If you drive the car as a weekend driver, as I do, then I think the Firestone summer tires are the best bet. Maximum performance, best feel, etc. I will put only 1000 to 2000 miles a year on my car. However, if I were to use the car more, I would choose a Michelin max performance all season tire. These are nearly as good as the Firestones will be, in the dry, but will be quieter, smoother riding, and last twice as many miles. Michelin makes the world's best tires and no other company even comes close. I would have bought Michelin but they don't make a summer tire in our size. But they do make this and it would be my choice if I drove the car more.
