Toyo Open Country A/T III

Positive

Community feedback for the Toyo Open Country A/T III is largely positive, with drivers frequently praising its traction in snow, rain, and off-road conditions, as well as its smooth ride comfort and solid tread life. Tire B

Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015

Positive

The community generally views the Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 as a solid, versatile all-terrain tire that excels for drivers prioritizing highway comfort, low road noise, and mild off-road or winter capability. While most users praise its wet-weather traction and relatively quiet ride compared to more aggressive alternatives like the BFG KO2, a few note drawbacks such as softer sidewalls, minor fuel economy drops, and occasional reports of a stiffer or harsher ride depending on the vehicle.

“Upped the pressure to 43 PSI for a 1000 mile drive, still suffering about a 1-2mpg penalty but that could also have been due to the higher speeds (west TX speed limit of 80 mph). Got 'em off road on the rocks and they're obviously loads better than the stock SR-As out there. We'll see how they handle mud soon enough. Have 5K miles on these things so far and am satisfied. I'm not super happy per se but I'm satisfied. Jury's still out on whether I'd buy again. Will report back in another few thousand miles.”

“GEOLANDAR A/T G015 Anyone running these on 17" rims, stock or other? I have Enkei M52 rims, 17x7.5 and 45mm offset. What size fits without rubbing? 215/60R17 looks to be the closest, the only other size close is 225/65R17 which I think will be too big without a lift. I am open to other suggestions for off-road capable tires that will mainly be used on-road. K02 is out because they don't fit without rubbing, and I plan to add flaps at some point and do not want to lift the vehicle or get different rims.”

“Anyone here running Yokohama Geolandar A/T4 G018's? Any complaints or regrets (road noise, balancing issues, etc.), specifically in SL load? Currently have the Geolandar A/T G015's on my 4th gen and am considering the A/T4's next. All the real feedback (non-commercial reviews) I've been able find on here and other forums seem to be pretty old and mostly by people without a ton of miles on them. My use case is about 90% on road with the remaining 10% on mild to moderate trails. Not a rock crawler and never will be. The G015's in SL load have been pretty perfect but I've been thinking about changing to the A/T4's next for slightly better off road performance. Main concern (aside from weight, which is why I'm looking to stay with SL instead of C) is wet pavement safety since I drive my young kids pretty much daily. I only have a roof rack, so not too much added weight.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
