“23 Model Y LR....just did my first tire change at 41k miles from stock Contis to Vredestein Quatrac Pro+. Better all the way around, no foam. There is not much of a road noise difference, maybe a bit louder going over concrete sections on some highways. I don't buy into the foam theory. Noise comes from tire composition and tread hitting varying surfaces. Every tire will give a different sound and sound level, foam or not.”

Vredestein Quatrac
Community members widely view the Vredestein Quatrac lineup as a high-value, comfortable, and quiet alternative to more expensive premium tires like the Michelin CrossClimate 2. Drivers frequently praise its smooth ride quality and dependable wet and light-to-moderate snow traction, though several note it does not match dedicated snow tires in severe winter conditions. Concerns occasionally arise regarding faster tread wear, shoulder chunking, and rolling resistance.
“I had been looking at summer tires due to the fact the Toyo are too. Was looking at these: They get decent reviews The rolling restistance and grip are good too. It is rated as having better grip in the wet than the Vredestein Quatrac: Would have thought the all weather would have better wet grip? Will make a decision tomorrow. I'm in on west of Ireland coast. It's wet rarely icy here, snow would be extreme -only once got proper snow in the last 15 years - the beast from east! Cheers”
“I agree with all of that. The Vredesteins are good, at least the set I have was. I’ll give them another shot at $600. If the sidewalls are a bit fragile to get that lightness, I suppose that’s something to keep in mind. Most people just don’t think about their car and don’t want to. They just want to go to work and get home after work. People have weird expectations of their tires. Whether this is a joke or not it might as well be a genuine review because certainly there’s someone out there for whom this is true.”
“The last week or so here we have received about 12-15 inches of snow. I have these on my 2003 Forester and must say they dig through the snow very well. The only thing that I have found is that they seem a little slick when stopping. Don't stop as well as the Blizzaks on the wife's Galant, but then again they are not a dedicated winter tire either. Have put about 3500 miles on them since July and must say for an all season tire they have performed well in all conditions.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
