Tire A Trail-Terrain T/A
Pros
- Low road noise for an all-terrain tire, with several reviewers calling it quieter than previous tires such as the AT3 and other all-terrains
- Strong snow and ice performance, including a Colorado snowstorm and multiple Alps trips with up to a foot of snow
- Comfortable, smooth ride and good handling and braking on the road
Cons
- Poor wet-weather traction reported by several reviewers, including wheelspin, lack of confidence on wet roads and ABS activation issues
- Some reviewers found road noise high on paved surfaces, and one called it outrageously noisy, though others found it quiet
- Wear is faster for some owners, with one set nearing replacement after about 20,000 miles and two years
Tire B WildPeak A/T Trail
Pros
- Outstanding winter and snow traction, often replacing the need for dedicated snow tires
- Surprisingly low road noise and comfortable, smooth highway ride for an all-terrain tire
- Enhanced confidence and durability on light off-road surfaces such as dirt, gravel, and rocky trails
Cons
- Slight decrease in fuel economy (MPG) reported by some users
- Minor reduction in high-speed cornering grip or a slightly spongy steering feel on dry pavement compared to standard street tires
- A few reports of faster-than-expected tread wear or reduced longevity under heavy rough-road usage

Falken WildPeak A/T Trail
The community is strongly positive, especially Subaru, Bronco, and crossover owners, who praise the Wildpeak A/T Trail as a quiet, smooth-riding all-terrain tire with good on-road manners, light off-road ability, and strong snow performance thanks to its 3-peak rating. Common drawbacks are a small MPG drop of about 1 mpg from the heavier tire, and a few isolated complaints about sidewall finish or browning, cracking, and uneven shoulder wear. Tire Rack testing cited in the posts ranked it best in dry conditions but weakest in winter among the tires compared.
“If you get any appreciable amount of snow an all-season no longer cuts it, IMO. You want an all WEATHER tire. The CC2's I see you were considering are in that class. Look for the 3-peak Mountain Snowflake rating. I ran all-season tires on my 2011 Outback for 10 years. When my 2021 needed tires I went with the OTHER often-suggested tire, the Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail. Best decision EVER!! They changed the handling of the Outback in the snow considerably for the better but they handle good in the dry still and they're wearing like iron.”
“2026 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness with new Falken Wildpeak A/T Trail All-Terrain Tires - 225/65R17! My speedometer and odometer readings are pretty much spot-on—maybe about a 1% difference at most. Road noise is the same as stock (if not slightly better), and grip on gravel and loose terrain is easily 30% better. Overall, stepping up to the slightly taller size for that extra ~0.5" of clearance and sidewall cushion was definitely the right move. The ride quality is great. The only thing I can’t comment on yet is tread longevity since I just got them mounted, but I'll check back in with an update down the road!”
“FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL how are they on small AWD vs regular A/T tires? Sorry only have a video of my roads, 1 photo for attention not ours as our Kona is stock. The other photos are screen captures of the video of the roads) We have a hyundai Kona AWD and this is what our backroads looks like (not always that bad when it's dry) I have to travel on a road like that for a mile to get to pavement. The Car has 18" with low profile grindstone weather peaks that are getting Shreaded. We are thinking of doing 16" rims and FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T TRAILs vs a heavier AT to keep the weight down on the little turbo AWD. Size would be 215/65R16 so we don't need a lift. Great car that we want to last the next 5-10 years. Wish someone made skids for it though Read more”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
