Mixed

Community sentiment regarding the Continental SportContact 2 is mixed, with some drivers praising its dry and wet grip, comfort, and wear life on passenger vehicles, while others criticize its road noise and wet performance compared to competitors or dislike the run-flat version. A substantial portion of the discussions mentioning 'SC2' refer to Pirelli motorcycle track tires or Saturn SC2 cars rather than this Continental tire model.

If you're not looking for the ultimate in 10/10ths performance in all honesty I would recommend the Kumho SPTs. Pretty impressive tire and when you factor in the low cost - amazing. I am running them on my S4 for daily summer use and am 100% happy. For the C2S I'm running the Bridgestones for street and R888s for auto-x/track use. I have a set of Kumho SPT's om my M3 and my GTI. These tires are the worst tires I've ever had on my M3. It is so mushy and soft now...almost like a Buick. The GTI fared better but the OEM tires were SC2's and I loved those tires on my GTI. The SPT's on the GTI are soft and mushy but did not destroy the feel as much as they did on the M3. I tried to save a few bucks on tires...you get what you pay for. David”

“i don't have those sizes, but i do have the conti sc2's on my 19s (255/35 and 285/35). i am very happy with them and don't have any complaints or regrets. although continental's going to discontinued this tire and its being replaced, so availability of the tire in the size you want may be limited.”

“First. Yes you should change tires showing cord. Cord is not meant to ever touch the road. You will have a blowout if you continue much further on those. Second "sumer all seasons" isn't a thing lol. Maybe you meant a UHP. Which is a all season with slightly more dry road performance focus and handling than a touring all season. If you have any snow or want max tire life. Uhp are a good option. But to get a GT to hook you'll want, to look at summer only tires. Continental sport contact 2 is one of the leaders right now. Very grippy, still very good in the rain, and good life for a summer tire. Finally the mustangs come stock with camber front and rear. They naturally wear the inside of tires out faster”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
