Best test result: #1 of 30 in 2026 Tire Rack All Terrain Tyre Snow Test (ice traction)
“New shoes on my ‘23 XSE Wanted to stick with black rims but saw these on an older gen and loved the look. Wrapped in 245/65R17 Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme‘s. Also replaced the OEM springs with Eibach lift springs for a bit more ride height.”

Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme
Community sentiment toward the Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme is largely positive, with owners frequently praising its aggressive appearance and confident performance in snow and wet conditions. Drivers also appreciate its comfortable ride quality compared to competing all-terrain tires and its strong 70,000-mile warranty. While noted as being slightly pricey and showing minor trade-offs in dry handling due to aggressive lugs, it is widely favored as an upgrade over older all-terrain models.
“new shoes. hankook dynapro at2 xtreme”
“I had the Dynapro AT2’s on my Lightning and they’re ok. I’d say they’re excellent dry, ok wet and in mud, marginal in snow. When I was looking for new tires I wanted an All Terrain that was slightly more aggressive for off-road and Three-Peak snow rated. But, with the Lightning, they couldn’t be a heavy tire as it would hurt range. Ended up settling on the Dynapro AT2 Xtreme. Essentially this is the newer version of the AT2. I’ve got about 10,000 miles on them so far and I’ll say dry handling is a little worse than the old AT2 (probably due to the more aggressive lugs), wet handling is about the same, but mud and snow handling is noticeably improved. So all in all, I probably wouldn’t get the AT2 again but I would do the AT2 Xtreme again.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
