Tire A

Falken WildPeak A/T4W

Positive

Community sentiment toward the Falken Wildpeak A/T4W is largely positive, with owners praising its aggressive aesthetics, quiet highway ride, and reliable traction in wet and snowy conditions. “I have Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 on my explorer and they have been great on the highway, towing, off road. 2 summer seasons so far and they still look nearly new. I use winter tires so far in winter tho... My other vehicle (AWD Delica minivan) has chinese brand RoadX RXquest AT QX12 and they have been amazingly quiet on highway - have not used in winter or highway but i will be using them this winter as they are rated 3 snowpeak so qualify as winter tires for my insurance...no issues with handling or wet performance noted so far. only had them on a few months so cannot comment on tread wear.”

“Upped the pressure to 43 PSI for a 1000 mile drive, still suffering about a 1-2mpg penalty but that could also have been due to the higher speeds (west TX speed limit of 80 mph). Got 'em off road on the rocks and they're obviously loads better than the stock SR-As out there. We'll see how they handle mud soon enough. Have 5K miles on these things so far and am satisfied. I'm not super happy per se but I'm satisfied. Jury's still out on whether I'd buy again. Will report back in another few thousand miles.”

“GEOLANDAR A/T G015 Anyone running these on 17" rims, stock or other? I have Enkei M52 rims, 17x7.5 and 45mm offset. What size fits without rubbing? 215/60R17 looks to be the closest, the only other size close is 225/65R17 which I think will be too big without a lift. I am open to other suggestions for off-road capable tires that will mainly be used on-road. K02 is out because they don't fit without rubbing, and I plan to add flaps at some point and do not want to lift the vehicle or get different rims.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
