Michelin Pilot Super Sport
The Michelin Pilot Super Sport is widely praised by the automotive community for its exceptional dry and wet grip, precise handling, and overall performance as a high-performance summer tire. While some users note limitations in cold or snowy weather and occasional concerns regarding tread life or aging cracks, most enthusiasts consider them a benchmark daily driver and street performance tire.
“Michelin PSS center sipes I was wondering what the purpose of these sipes are for? The sipes were there when the tires were new 10/32. Now the tires are at 7/32, the sipes are gone. Read more”
“Had this on my E90, as well. Alignment was good, wheel balance on road force machine was good. Turned out i had over 0.250" of runout on both rear wheels. Took me two sets of 255/35/18 PSS's and me watching them balance the tires to figure it out... bought new wheels, never went to a Tirediscounters since.”
“I had 2 sets of PSS on my GTI, got around 30kmi on each set, possibly a little more. Mainly commuting-style of driving plus aggressive acceleration from stop signs. No clue how anyone could wear through them in 5kmi unless that's heavy (or all) track use. They are great tires in wet and dry, just not useable in any level of snow since they have no deep cross tread cuts to move snow out of the way. I switched to the Pilot A/S 3+ (all season) for this current set in case I needed to drive in any light snow. Super happy with the A/S 3+, rides a little better, real quiet, and handles well. Plus I got a set for $500 at Tire Rack in the factory 18" size after $70 rebate.”

How do we compare tires?
Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.
Community buzz from Reddit and forums is shown for context only — it never changes the score.
