“A lot of our cars come with that Bridgestone. Often need replacement at only 30k km. They are also very sensitive to alignment, even slight off and the tires will wear unevenly and get noisy. Still better than the Dunlops though.”

“Need All-Weather Tires for my BMW X3 Hello. I am looking to purchase all-weather tires for my 2022 BMW X3 XDrive30i. I live in an area that does not get a significant amount of snow throughout the year and can vary. Some seasons upwards of a couple feet to some seasons with a few inches. The tires the car came with are absolutely god awful in the snow, even a dusting. The car currently has Bridgestone Alenza 001 RFT tires on it, yes I know they are Summer tires. I've been doing a lot of research regarding tires and everybody seems to rave about the Michelin CC2. Unfortunately, my car has staggered wheels 245/45R20 & 275/40R20. They make the front tire size, but not the rear. It seems the closest thing they have is 275/45R20. Is it possible to use that size for the rear? I know it would mess up the Odometer and Speedometer. Is it easy to adjust the car's setting to update the tire size? In my tire size I think the "best" all-season/all-weather tire I've been able to find is the Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3. It seems the Vredestein Hypertrac All Season may also be good? Has anyone else been in my situation? Any other X3 owners with staggered wheels recommend a good all-weather tire with strong winter performance? I've considered doing the Summer/Winter switch, but given how hit or miss our winters are it seems silly to go through all of that effort if I have to drive in the snow maybe 3 or 4 times per year. Thanks for the help! Read more”

“If you don't drive your car hard and need a good all around all weather tire, it is a fine choice. The only reason it's predominantly labeled an SUV tire is because it comes OEM on a bunch of SUVs like the highlander, etc and likely has a weight rating to accommodate. It works for the LC because the LC weighs as much or more than most crossover/SUVs such as the grand highlander does. edit: if you got the Alenza 001 which is a runflat tire it's going to be loud, as all run flat tires are.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
