Best test result: #3 of 13 in 2022 Consumer Reports All Season Truck Tires (tested tread life (miles))

“I have an R and a GL. The Duellers are junky tires. They will do the job but the ride really suffers. Those LTX are fantastic, but a large premium on them. I run General Grabber HTS60's. They are very quiet and comfortable. They are a significant improvement over the dueller at a better more manageable price. Dan”

Tire A

General Grabber HTS60

Positive

Community opinion of the General Grabber HTS 60 is largely positive, with owners highlighting its low price, quiet road manners, and strong fuel and electric efficiency compared to all-terrain alternatives. While widely praised as an affordable highway tire capable of light towing, some users note concerns regarding winter grip, wet hydroplaning at half tread, and isolated balance or sidewall defect issues.

“As a general statement typically AT's are noisier than All Season tires. How much more depends on the individual tire. Hit up YouTube or sites like Tire Rack to check the reviews out. I just had a set of General Grabber HTS60's put on my truck today. They got very good reviews everywhere I checked. I personally didn't want a set of AT's but General Grabber makes a nice looking set of the AT's as well and the prices on the Grabber looks to be reasonable. They were on mine. As far as the SRA's go just about anything is an improvement. But I will say, they are quiet on dry road but so are many other tires that are higher quality.”

“Grabber HTS60 I'm not going to write a novel. But I just installed these new tires 275/60/20 to replace my all terrain tires. They are virtually silent. Close to 20 lbs lighter than the all terrains and on Friday my drive to work used 12.5kwh and today (in the rain) 8.6kwh. That's a massive difference! 45% more efficient? Probably not really but 20%+? Possibly! Nearly 3 years I've never seen my efficiency graph as high as today. So happy I might hit over 300+ miles now!”

“I am a big fan of General tires in general in the moderate budget category... they are a great cost to benefit tire and part of Continental tires. The Grabber HTS 60 is a great tire... as long as you don't have to deal with winter conditions. An alternative I have seen people extremely happy with is the Nexen Roadian HTX2 or the Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S... but in my neck of the woods we don't usually use "3-season" tires (which is what all-season tires really are these days) very often, but really like all-weather tires or using all-seasons in conjunction with dedicated winter/snow tires.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
