Best test result: #1 of 9 in 2024 Tire Rack UHP All Season Tyre Test (snow braking)

“I just switched from the Pilot Sport All Season 4 to the Continental DWS 06 Plus, and the contis are WAY quieter and ride so much smoother than the Michelins. Hopefully they'll last longer too, the Michelins only lasted me about 28k~ miles despite regularly rotating them.”

Best test result: #1 of 9 in 2024 Tire Rack UHP All Season Tyre Test (noise (tester's mark))

“I just purchased some Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3s for my 2016 Accord. I'll run these spring to fall until I switch over my 17" winter combo. These have been excellent so far! Ride quality, noise, and grip are all vasty improved from the mis-matched combo of two OE ContiProContacts and two Vredesteins (were on the car when I purchased it in 2019). The dry grip in particular has been fun / made the vehicle more engaging to drive through some winding roads.”

Family member several years ago put Pirelli P7 All-Season Plus on their BMW and that is one of the more impressive tires I’ve experienced in a long time. Exceptionally quiet. Excellent for a luxury car. Please note they are not used in winter so I don’t know the snow traction. Run Blizzak in winter. I’m running the newest P Zero AS Plus 3 all seasons on my LS500, replacing a set of Cinturato P7 All Seasons. If you thought the P7s were excellent, you’d be amazed with the p zero as plus 3. Better in both ride quality and noise.”

“From 19’s to 18’s Bought my car in August and I absolutely love it! I had a 2013 GTI for the past 10+ years but figured it was time to upgrade. I’ve been lurking on here for a while but lots of helpful information. I knew my first change was new wheels and tires and I went with the Apex VS-5’s in Satin Bronze (18 x 8.5) with Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 (245/40). Bumps aren’t nearly as bad and the overall ride quality is fantastic. Very quiet on the highway and I’m extremely happy. Just thought I’d share my experience on going from 19’s to 18’s. Read more”

“Tirerack reviews are spot on with my own testing as far as NVH is concerned. Hankook iON evo AS Noise too, was low volume over smooth surfaces and blended tones nicely, with only minor pitter patter or wind noises muted but noticeable. Even concrete noise only rose to moderate levels with a slightly higher pitch but without any strong resonant sound. Goodyear ElectricDrive 2 Noise volume and tone both were exceptional, keeping any outliers blended into a pleasant white noise on nearly all surfaces, even on some of the more notorious sections of our road ride. My next one in 3 months will be these, given Tirerack has good feedback Pirelli P Zero AS Plus 3 The amount of noise control was excellent as well, and other than some very mild interaction with crosscut concrete, was whisper quiet. No stand-out tones, no strong tread noise, just the wind.”

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
