Best test result: #1 of 20 in 2026 Autobild Summer Tyre Test (wear)

“I've had the Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 (235/45/18). They were really sturdy, comfort was super bad with them and I sold them for half the price. These are sport tyres, you do not need them.”

Tire A BluEarth S34

Pros

  • Dry grip is described as adequate by most reviewers and as 'phenomenal' by one.
  • Low rolling resistance contributes to fuel savings on hybrids.
  • One reviewer found handling great and the tire very good value for the price.

Cons

  • Wet traction is the most frequent complaint: reports of slipping in the rain, sliding when turning in wet conditions despite traction and stability control, and initial slipperiness on new tires.
  • Handling is described as poor or only 'so-so' by several reviewers.
  • Noise is prominent, including wind and road noise at speed (one reviewer measured roughly 85 dB at 70 mph).

  • Outstanding grip and confidence in both wet and dry weather conditions
  • Noticeably lower road noise and high ride comfort compared to OEM or run-flat tires
  • Sharp, responsive steering feel and progressive handling at the limit

Tire B

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6

Positive

The Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 is widely regarded as a top-tier UHP summer tyre with strong dry grip, good wet performance and rim protection. It is often recommended as a comparable or better-value alternative to the Michelin PS5. Reservations include a harsh ride and poor comfort for non-sporty daily use, a harshly negative Swedish test of cold-weather braking, concerns about wear and track use, and isolated vibration and EV-rating questions.

How do we compare tires?

Every category score blends two independent signals. 60% comes from professional tire tests (braking distances, lap times, noise measurements), each result compared with every other tire in the same test and newer tests counting more. 40% comes from owner reviews found online, adjusted for how generously each site rates. Both use one scale: the average tested tire gets 70, the best 100. When a tire has only one of the two, the missing half is estimated from the other and the score stays closer to average; with no road test and fewer than five owner reviews it gets no score yet.

Handling is the exception: road tests measure it inside the dry and wet scores, so its own row comes from owner ratings only and starts as less important.
